I am a southern Idaho deer hunter and have never hunted these units. Any fellow Idaho MM members willing/able to tell me about deer numbers and or quality. I have been in the units so there is no need to tell me how steep or rugged the county is! Thanks

No Brian, the wolves are everywhere else that I hunt. I guess I have to try and figure out where to put in since I decided to wait and see how bad the odds are going to be on all the new goat and sheep permits. We did get Connie in on the Moose though! Might shoot carp this Sat. You Game?

Sorry for the late reply. I've been too busy to get on here the last few days. Saturday I'm headed to IF and will probably do some fishing somewhere up there in the afternoon.

LAST EDITED ON May-05-05 AT 09:33PM (MST)[p]We had antelope tags in 37a several years in a row and spent a good amount of time up there. We saw a handful of whitetail bucks in the norther part of the unit and around the river bottoms. Never did see a single mule deer buck. Of course we weren't way up high in the tops of the canyons, but still, I was continually amazed at the lack of mule deer. We did see a HUGE White wolf up there and what we believe to be a Grizzly Bear. I've taken 2 nice sized black bears in the past few years and this bear was unlike any we have ever seen. We watched him across a drainage and he was a serious specimen. Had that golden brown color that you rarely see in a black bear.

Sorry I don't have more info on the deer, great antelope unit though!

Thanks Shelbys,
I doubt I will act on these units just never herd much about them. It's hard to travel when there are great deer in your own back yard!.
