Got my tag in the mail yesterday. Do i understand correctly that i can now apply for specific units?? It looks like most of the 200 series units require a special permit to hunt mule deer.
Most of the other units it seems i can hunt mulies or whities with just the general tag that i have. I'm kinda confused ??

You can now apply for the special permits now that you drew a combination licence. Good luck in the draw.

I got me refund check today but not the form that you send back to apply for points for the special elk permits. Do you know if they send these forms out later or should I call them and ask for one.

If my memory serves me correct, you will receive it in the mail later or at least that is how I got mine last year.

Take in to consideration that SOME of the special permits you may apply for will limit you to hunting ONLY that area for mule deer in Mt. (if you are successful in drawing)

Yea Bittersweet i have really considered that very thing. I'm thinking that just staying with the general tag gives me a lot more options and allows me to be mobile. Since we'll have about 3 weeks to hunt (if needed) i think the flexibility would be good rather than being tyed to 1 unit. I read that in 2004 there were 1250 landowners in the block management program with 8.8 million acres of ground. With that and all the public ground it should'nt be tough to find areas to hunt.
