LAST EDITED ON May-14-05 AT 09:46PM (MST)[p]My son Todd and I had a real Quality hunting experience on the Book Cliffs unit, it met all of are expectations. Todd achieved his goal of harvesting a 170 class buck or better( he gross scored 178 3/8) with his muzzel loader. We saw a lot of bucks, 15 to 20 a day, we saw a typical that would have probably have made that magical 190" mark, just could not get close enough for a shot. It rained snowed sleeted fog you name it, we hunted any way.In fact it was raining and lighting when Todd and I made are stalk on his buck, he had eight other bucks with him, he was the larges. We stalked to within eighty yards. We got him in the afternoon of the second day. Most of the hunters in the area were staying in camp because of the bad weather.
Take it all in guys and enjoy, its a great hunt and it may be the last time you will ever have the chance of harvesting a Buck on the Book Cliffs.
