WA Regs are online

Ridgerunner,

Like I said before, I don't live in Washington anymore but I try and make it up there as much as possible and my responce to this post was going to be, FINALLY! But it looks like you beat me to it. so I'll change it to "It's about freakin time!"

If I were bobcat, which I am not, but if I were to act like him for a minute, I'd have to end this reply with:

THE ONLY bobcat WONDERING WHY IT TAKES STATES (AT LEAST IDAHO AND WASHINGTON) LONGER AND LONGER EVERY YEAR TO GET THE REG'S OUT?? IT'S THE MIDDLE OF MAY FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!

No sh*t! Middle of May and the special permit apps are due in June. Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

Since I drew for Montana, I think I'll be applying for one of those "ghost hunts". Just want to keep my extortion, er, preference points. ;)

yeah, applications are due in June & they dont even pull until the end of July (last year they even extended it two weeks!). So, basically we are well into August before we get our notice in the mail. It's kinda hard to plan your fall hunts JUST IN CASE you do get pulled for one of those ghost hunts. What a joke.

Has anyone heard of the new permit Washington is supposibly introducing this year that would allow a hunter to hunt each season (i.e. arhcery, modern, muzz) with the respected weapon if their app gets pulled & they front an additional $150? Is there any truth to this or am I just another Washington hopeful?

Yep, it is supposed to be on the special permit list in 2006. As ususal, they are dragging their feet on this one too. They still haven't come up with how many permits to be issued. We are trying real hard to get them to drop that whole buy and designate your tag prior to applying for special permits thing. The proposal would make it nessesary to purchase the appropriate licenses prior to applying, but you would not have to decide your choice of weapon or region until after special permits have been drawn.

LAST EDITED ON May-19-05 AT 01:50PM (MST)[p]That would be sweet. I like to hunt archery, but I'd love to get the late rifle mulie tag. Can't do both.

I wonder why they changed the rules for people that don't turn in hunt reports from no license next year to a $10 fee. I thought the rule was a good one. Special elk permits numbers are getting smaller every year in the areas I hunt. I don't think Washington gives a S**T about archery or muzzleloader hunters. I think they could give out a few more premium deer and elk permits without hurting the herds. I guess the most money is with the gun hunters.

Good luck everyone.
