Here is a pic and a few links to some more photo's of a giant one of our clients, Randy Cramer Sr. shot this past saturday. (for more pics www.mcclendon-elk-hunts.com www.nsvpro.com)

It was an early rifle hunt on public land (not an auction tag).

Randy is a long time friend and truely appreciates and admires this great bull that he shot.

John McClendon guided the hunt and was assisted by Randy Bryant. Congrats to all involved. 433 gross as is and estimated over 450 if not broken.

A little weak in the 4's but I'd go ahead and shoot him.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That thing is huge. Are the tines so long that it makes the mass look light? Awesome bull. Too bad he lost the royal.

Nice bull, but not evan close close to those numbers 390" congrats though.

good bull dont get me wrong but I agree with rage I dont see 433-450 Just not there I would shoot it still.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-08 AT 09:41PM (MST)[p]Here we go again....unreal. :)

Let me relay a short story if you'll indulge me for a moment. I remember in 2005 when AZ402 came into my elk camp and told me about a monster bull their client had just arrowed. He asked if I had some time in the afternoon to go up and run a "confirmation" tape on the bull to see how close they were. Well, I did.....and that bull was within 1" of the official panel score a year later and became the new P&Y world record for typical elk. If Stan and John say it's 433" gross (that's counting all abnormal points as well) then I'm fairly certain it's there. BTW, the G5's on that bull are phenomenal!

Way to go Stan, thanks for sharing it with us.....and congrats to the hunter and everyone involved.

Awesome bull! Love the huge frame on him and the tine length.

Personally I added the bull up as is to 430. He has a 415 typical frame just look at the tine length on top and his main beams.

I have to admit, I was taken back by the claimed score at first sight.

Upon further scrutiny, I think it is 430+

1) look at the left side- the 7th point is in line and at least 15in
2) the beams go forever
3) both sides have giant 8th points, 12-14 inches each, times two
4) right side has a seventh in line point for about 5-6 more inches.

Just the extra poitns add up to about 45 inches, thenthrow in the typical frame and extra beam length..................I thinks its the real deal.....but what do I know......I really am not in the same league as most of you.no kidding.

Congratulations on a stud animal.

Mark

Damn 390... hate too have you boys measure my pecker. That's a monster bull congrats to hunter.

What a monster. There has been a lot of posts lately trashing other people's animals. I guess with the spider bull now a 430 isn't even good enough.

Great Looking bull! Will be waiting for their next video.

I want to be a guide... I want to be a guide... I want to be a guide. How cool would that be to witness all of these great bulls and run around in the hills and get some what paid for it.

Great bull!

Stan, congratulations to all of you guys on taking another fantastic bull.

For those who doubt the score, I have a little John McClendon story. Back around 2000, I drew a rifle tag in unit 9 and booked a hunt with McClendon and Sons. In fact, Stan was in that camp, guiding another hunter. There was a fellow who had taken some nice bulls, and John was guiding this fellow himself. At mid-day around the third day, John comes back in to camp and tells this fellow that he's found the bull the guy is going to shoot. When the guy asks him about it, John tells him it's a 5x5. The fellow didn't want to shoot the bull as he wanted something bigger, until John told him the bull would score (and I might be wrong on the exact score as it was 8 years ago) 327 as a 5x5. John then produced a notepad with all the measurements on it. I asked him how he knew the bull had those measurements and he replied that he knew because he'd snuck withing 30 yards of the bull for over a half hour. Well, they killed that bull later in the day and John was right on the score, to within an inch.

A day or two later, another hunter (guided by Richie Hogan) killed a nice bull off the Coconino Rim. When they got him back to camp, everyone was guessing what he'd score. All the hunters and guides were guessing, and guesses ranged from around 320 clear up to 350. John pulled into camp and came over to look at the bull. When asked how big he thought it was, he said "336". After we all sat around and measured the bull, John was again the one who was spot on with his estimate of the size. I was amazed that anyone could look at a bull and guess that closely and do it twice.

I know I wouldn't be second guessing how big he says a bull is. This bull has unreal tine length, and that's where most of a bulls score comes from. I believe them.

When an experienced guide like that tells me that the bull will score something I plan on believing him. Sometimes when you are holding the animal in your hands you get alot better view than a picture. This bull is a stud no matter what he scores. Congrats to the hunter and the guide.

First off, CONGRATS to Mr. Cramer and all involved!

For all you gals bickering...
....I can understand all the second guessing if the bull is on the hoof....but guys....the bull has hit dirt, there has already been a tape to him! Why argue?! Jeez Louize!

Roy summed it up, using Shawn's bull as example. The McC. gang know their stuff --- finding the big bulls, scoring them on the hoof, then closing the deal for their clients.

Stan, kudos to everyone involved on this hunt! A-w-e-s-o-m-e bull! Can't wait to hear the details ...

Thanks for the compliments guys, I know they are appreciated by all involved.

The 390 scores, literally made me laugh out loud!!

Ah come on guys, after all this is John McClendon. He's like the doyle moss of arizona. Is that all we have bad to say about him? I thought we had some professional complainers and haters on here? lol. I actually met mike whelan or however you spell his name a couple years back in the field. Do they still hunt together? If he only knew. The very spot I met him 5 years ago is where I found my gila monster today. HEHEHEHEHEHE lucky me. Lets hope I get him this time around. 3rd times a charm!

Thank You Stan for posting these...please don't let some of these blowhards who can't find their butt with both hands keep you from posting up more pics. For what it is worth, Stan doesn't have to post these up, he does it for all to enjoy, so just look at the bull, drool if you need to, but keep the negative comments to yourself. Thanks again Stan, that bull is a pig, great job to you and the boys for another fine bull..........

Thanks again guys, I had zero to do with this hunt though. The blowhards don't bother me a bit, it's easy to be awesome on the www.

Even though I wasn't on the hunt, I'm very proud of this bull. I know all three of the guys involved on the hunt very well. I know they all worked as a team to take this bull of a lifetime.

Beautiful bull. Hey Stan, didn't Levi have a tag this year? How did he do? Maybe I'm wrong, I thought I read that on McClendon's website.

Levi had a tag, no bull for him this year. He hunted the duration of the hunt. Big bulls win the battle a lot of the time.

Levi's hunting partner took a real unique bull about mid-way through the hunt (all on video). Randy's hunt was also captured on video.

Yikes that thing is a monster! Does his 1st and 3rds "look" small because the rest of the rack is so frickin huge?!!
So it will be on the next Awesome Bull?
Congrats to the hunter and thanks for sharing the pictures.
Jeff

Az coues and elk you are way off on your scoring that bull does not come anywhere close to a 415 typical frame. If he was he would be around 450 or so. Those extras are I would guess 35-40 inches. Which should be around a 390 or so typical frame. I believ the score for sure due to source but check your measuring tape on that typical frame guess.

Very cool unique bull, I can see every inch. Right third and left fifth inside extra busted? If so it looks to me like 18-20 inches missing right there.

Congrats!
