I saw a truck driving down the freeway today with something sticking out of the back. Get kind of excited...........Do the rubber neck thing. Is it a bull...........a big buck......?
Then laugh at yourself, it was just a table and chairs with the legs sticking up. Wow..... all this excitement with spider bull, rifle season coming up. I am getting the fever! lol

It was kinda fun last year when I took my bull I had to drive 400 miles home. I could have put his horns in the trailer I was pulling but of course I put them in the back of my truck. Some guys chased me almost 40 miles to get a look. They were in a restaurant, dropped their food and hauled A. I stopped to take a whiz and got a little nervous when these guys come running up to my truck. They were stoked to get a look.

Had people honking and giving thumbs up all along the way.

Of course I have a few phone photos of racks I've chased down on the road--just couldn't help it. Wife hates it when I play Mario Andrade to see what's sticking up in a truck.

It's cool when hunters can back each other up and give a thumbs up occasionally.

Every year that we drive to the western states from the Kali coast along I-80 mainly through Nevada, we are rubber necking to see what or if any "bones" in back of rigs headed west.

Saw what looked like a table and chairs ontop of a Jeep Cherokee up in Wyoming last weekend. As it went by I realized it was one of the biggest bulls I've ever seen. It had to have been in 380+ range. Every point on it was 20" or more it seemed.

Sometimes they get you the other way around too :)

Cheers,
Pete

back when i killed my bull in Nevada i could of done the same thing..put it in the trailer..but thats no fun so i strapped it to the front rack on my atv which was in the back of my truck..this bull scored about 362" and very wide. Driving the interstate all the way back i could see lots of people pointing and trying to get a look...when i got just about home i looked over in the east bound lane and saw a NV highway patrol hitting his brakes, i didnt think much of it i wasnt speeding so i just figured he was going after someone else. Took him about 4 miles to catch up to me. He pulled up beside me, hit the siren and gave me the thumbs up.

A number of years ago I killed my first bull Elk. I was really excited and proud of him as I had killed him with a bow on the ground. I put his rack on my quad in the back of my truck for the traditional ?bragging rights? as my partner would say. Only trouble was he was a bit on the tiny side even for a 5 by 5. I can remember driving by one of the portable meat lockers and seeing what a real bull looked like and I sank down in my seat hoping no-one would see me! :) LMAO! It's funny to think about. I still have his rack and even though it is a small bull I am still pretty proud of it. Oh and I did get a thumbs up from someone when I got down into town.

Yes,
I do that all the time too when we are heading west on our trips. We usually travel I70 or I90. It makes me that much more anxious to get where we're going when I see a bunch of bone heading back east.

I was in southern Utah on a Vegas trip and followed a guy from Filmore to Cedar city to see the 36" + palmated, massive, ten plus points per side buried under a tarp. It was in November so I figured CWMU tag or a poacher? I caught up with him and realized it was a freakin caribou! The tops forked very similar to a muley and I died with dissappointment!

Last year I ran a guy down on my way to church(30 minutes late : )) and he had an old lion kill pick up that scored 210". It was worth missing church over!

It's kinda fun except for us when we get back tothe west side of Washington and roll into Bellevue/Seattle. A whole lot of waving going on, but it's usually a single finger wave. We cover-up on the pass and try not to draw too much attention the rest of the way home.

Last year i had a sheriff pull me over with my wifes deer in the back! I was Pissed he was pulling me over, thinking what the hell did i do???. when i saw his big smile i knew what he wanted
