I never stay up to watch them, but always check to see who won the next day. It's kind of exciting to find out the Best Picture. I feel disappointed with some of the winners in the years past. I still don't know why Tremors 2 wasn't even nominated. That really bothers me.

Do any of you pay attention to the Oscars?

I think they mostly suck ,just a way for the left to vent.I wish some homeless person would take a big sh#t on that red carpet.

+1. I remember a few years ago when the screen actors quild was on strike and they didn't know if they would have the oscars, some yahoo who thinks he's a big shot with the oscars said " if we don't have the oscars there will be some people in the USA who will commit suicide. Really? He was dead serious.

When I was younger, I used to tune in, even got to hold a few Oscar statues when I was younger. But over the years, I've grown so tired of all the political nonsense that is spewed during the broadcast. I can remember when Marlon Brando started it all when he sent Pocohantas out to a make a big speech on his behalf. To me, it's a show just to stroke some massive ego's. On the other hand, my wife eats it up!

Other than to mock, I have a hard time fathoming why any self-respecting sports fans or outdoors-people would want to watch. Oil and water.

I thank God that my wife was out of town so the TV didn't need to be tuned in to that crap!

I'd puke if I had to watch it!!!!

I didn't know anything about the movies they were talking about so it seemed pointless. The more money Hollywood gets the more they spend to cut my throat, so I try not to give them any more than I have to.

Eelgrass, I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. And if you don't have one I think you should! You are pretty much always dead on.

"Nothing can take the sting off the world's economic problems like watching millionaires present each other golden statues."

He sent Elizabeth Warren to decline his Oscar. Ha!
