PIT BBQ

I'm very familiar with that. Our deer club summer meeting featured a pit barbeque every year. The first time I saw it I was amazed and a bit skeptical. We used beef and pork.

Very nice! I like that deep pit design. I've been wanting to build one, now I'm more determined. Thanks for sharing.

With so many plumbers here maybe this would be a good design.

. It's a 3 foot by 4 foot scrap of iron pipe. Of course we used a backhoe to dig the hole and drop it in. We cook turkeys in it for Thanksgiving and the bones just fall out. Going to do a couple of Bison roast here soon. We did six turkeys and there was still tons of room. Cover the pit with a big aluminum road sign and dirt on top.

I've Been Wondering where them Road Signs have been going!:D

I should have read the whole post before I ran out and tried it. I thought was a sewer manhole. My pork was a little gamey.

I was told it was a old retired sign. But that aluminum is good because it's hard to melt. ?We roll them up in burlap like the video. But we just set them on the hot coals.
