I Prefer a 6 Speed Stick!

But Once again!

The Pussssssies of the World have decided for the Most Part you're gonna Drive a Slushbox!

I Guess as People Get Lazier that's what We get!

There Should Still Be a Choice in about all Vehicles!

Had to Laugh about a Year ago!

A F'N Thief Broke in to a Car & Was Smart Enough to get it Started But He FAILED in the Getaway Because He had not a Clue on how to Drive a Stick Shift!

I liked a manual transmission....until I got a cell phone and learned how to text. I kept dropping my phone or missing a gear, so I went with a auto. :)

When I went to get my latest belcher, my wife asked the salesman why they didn't offer a 6 speed.

Elkasssss had the answer in his post.

Slush boxes , 2 of them. Gen 1 Cummins with as "man tranny" as you can get in an automatic. And a Gen 2 Cummins with a definite slush box. Still I'd prefer a straight stick any day.

Elkass,, I just hit 59K in my '05 Dodge 2500 belcher,, Yah, it's not a misprint, for real 59K. I love the 6 speed stick,, Although I am not a fan of my first death wobble a few weeks ago with the whole family along for the ride.. LOL

Here is a memory of mine for ya Bess. I only had stick shift , well 1 Broncos with 3 on the tree. I had an older F250 with the 7.3 International Banks sidewinder and a 5 speed stick, loved that truck. Had to have my left knee rebuilt after an accident and had to switch trucks with littlebuck for a couple weeks. Hers was an F250 with a 5.0 and automatic. Man I missed my truck. After about 2 weeks I had to make a run to SLC for a meeting,I took MY truck, best ride up to the big city I ever had. The ride back was absolute hell, does anyone have an average number as how many times you use your clutch in 8 miles of stop and go traffic.... I don't have a number but I stayed at my mom and dad's that night, 60 miles from home so I could take. My pain meds And go to.sleep.

I just think it's funny that Bess will admit he prefers a "man tranny" over a "slushbox". I'm not really surprised though.

Call me a girl but I'll take the auto all day long over a clutch. There was a time when autos didn't have power to turn the tires and stick was the only way to go but they've come a long ways. Put a load behind each and drive in traffic or head up a grade. It's not even close. And the manual gears do nothing to help on the downhill either.

And
>the manual gears do nothing
>to help on the downhill
>either.

? Help me out shadow.

...easy DW....allison in tow/haul and exhaust brake....you can hardly make it roll downhill

Manual gears work great in a gasser, it will build compression. Teamed with a diesel, manual gears are useless as an automatic at holding back a load. I'm not worried about getting it rolling, I'm more concerned about getting it stopped so Ive started researching aftermarket exhaust brakes and that sounds like the winning ticket for the Allison, as Homer mentioned.

Homer, what you know of exhaust brakes? Any advantage as far as brand?
