Jenny was an Australian Shepherd. Had to put her to sleep. Cried like a little school girl. She was born somewhere around 2000.

Anyway, long story short. She was taking Rimadyl for arthritis. That stuff was great. In fact, I was only giving her a couple tabs a month Then I heard of Prevo(a?) cox. Anyway, gave her one each day for three days. Developed pancreaitis, and liver/kidney problems. Vet got her well, but she got sick again. My fault, but too long of a story.

Point: If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Also, if you have an older dog, no fatty foods. ESPECIALLY, bacon/sausage. Paul

17 is a lotta dog years Paul. I've heard bad things about rimadyl too. They get to that age it's like you and I, just get em comfortable and let em slip away. Ain't any fun but it's part of ownin em.
