On this Memorial Day, I offer you all the following that has History few knew of.

In Suhl Germany I met many German WWII Glider Pilots. It was by accident ( or Gods Hands ) and some sat me down at their table showing me pictures of them long ago. I again heard for the millionth time, they never wanted anything to do with war but they either did as told or were shot.

The above link is quite interesting. After Crete Hitler made a terrible error whilst USA saw it as a valued tool. The Tool is seen in the video.

That was a great video,I knew that they had used gliders but only saw in pictures. Thanks for sharing that and for your service.

I've read several books about D-Day so I know about the gliders, but that was a good video. The supplies they brought in was vital to the mission and the war.

One of the guys on my crew had a grandfather who was a glider pilot. Very interesting to hear some of the stories second hand. Talked about a time they went in and another glider full of troops his glider knew well, they had their tow cut prematurely over rough seas and that was that. I guess he wanted to strangle the crew of the plane for the snafu

Sadly, most of our knowledge came from D-Day & Iwo Jima + Director Ford. Otherwise it is from Family members "IF" they even talked about their time....and that's a very few.

1911, The video displays a time/day when almost ALL Gliders were released early and they went into the Sea....long before D-Day. Another event caused many Deaths due to Friendly Fire and leads us to know why, on D-Day, Black & White stripes were painted on ALL aircraft's. "Hold Thoughts". Many know why but what the root cause is, is unknown until this video is watched. The "Why" = a Date and Location(s).

Outside of the topic, there are lessons to be learned for Business Managers (Public/Private) about getting what you seek from upper Management.
