hey DC did you see the Unknown Expedition show that they had on TV last night.

Talked to the Man himself and then and went to three places that they thought the treasure was.

One was out of Yellowstone and another in Wyoming. I had to tape the show as my Mom was in town. I will watch the whole thing tonight.

This show does help a little in the narrowing down of a location.

Check it out maybe it's time to go treasure huntin.

Dang, i missed that 53.

I was out looking for Fenn's bronze box all day and got home well after midnight. ;-) ;-)

Where in Wyoming were they looking?

I was up that way, twice, this summer but didn't do any treasure hunting. Like Fenn, i spent all my time fishing and didn't go looking for any gold.

Still haven't figured out where to start from. :D Waiting on a MMer to come up with a parking lot, where warm waters halt.

We'll I might not find the box but I am going gold sluicing and panning on the 24th up in the Sierra's on a claim.

should be a lot of gold this year with the water rushing everywhere. I'll let you know if I find anything.

it ain't Fenn's treasure but it's still Gold

Have a great trip 53, but remember MM's Cardinal Rule - #1: Without pictures, it didn't happen.

We need to see color! :) :)

I'll do er DC but first I have to learn how to post a picture.

I'm pretty lucky so I'm hoping I can find some nuggets. One ole boy on this claim in March found a large nugget somewhere around 4 oz's

So here's to hoping

DeerHunter53, good luck on your gold hunt in the Sierra's. I hear stories of people digging up nuggets the size of potatoes. Each shovel full has one or two in it.!!

Okay then, paid the bar tab, sold out here and head through Wendover now! Thanks for the tip eel!

A classmate and good friend of my Wife is missing in New Mexico hunting for this treasure. Good luck and keep it safe. Say some prayers for Paris Wallace.

Dang it Bean, I just read the news reports regarding Paris Wallace. Not a good deal. It doesn't sound good, I certainly hope this takes a turn for the better.

"keep it safe" is always the best advice for everyone journeying into the back country, for fur, fin, or Fenn!

I sure hate to hear about things like this, it turns something intended to bring happiness and joy into peoples lives into something far from the original intent.

Leave a light on Bean, sure hope your friend finds his way home soon.

Wonder if the only gold is from selling his books.

Ok Eel it's time to fess up where are all the nuggets at? Are they in the no where mine or somewhere close to that.

I need directions and once I get them I'll let DC know so he can meet me for some gold finding!!!

Pay the tab DC we'll start a new one over here. I'll help

It's difficult to see our friends loose their lives, pursuing their passions. As homer stated, life is always a risk and reward situation. So easy to say, but so difficult to deal with, when things take a tragic turn for family and friends, as they have these last few days.

It's been a difficult weekend here on MM. Beanman, please send our condolences to the Wallace family and all those from Paris Wallace's congregation.

I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out
in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom
of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.

Beanman

I just read about your friend Wallace. So sorry for your loss. There are no words that can describe the pain of these kinds of losses.
It is a sad state of affairs when something like this happens when pursuing happiness and the pleasure of the outdoors.
