Family News + Friendship invites

My Wife and Daughter left California and meandered through Arizona then to Las Cruces New Mexico to a taxidermist. They picked up my Elk and Antelope. They LOVED New Mexico and my Wife said, we should move there.

They will be driving to our Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to see Coaches and friends from when our Son (Now Deputy Sheriff / SWAT) was on the Olympic Rifle Shooting Team.

I never know which route she may take and neither do they. I taught everyone to go as the wind blows you having few to zero Plans.

If they drive into Salt Lake City, It would be nice if MM'ey members and Law Enforcement folks might meet them and chat. The Daughter is Catholic but I would enjoy her to be introduced to our LDS Church meembers.

Actually I would humbly appreciate giving them directions up through Aspen or..?.. and into Utah with better sights than her going up to Hwy 80 then West. Maybe 191 West, then Hwy 87 then Hwy 35...? I do not know such routes or anything so maybe some of you can help.

If you meet them you shall know why I am spoiled and always happy. The Daughter is a serious Hunter and Cowgirl and wants out of California. Mom has always Hunted and can field dress and clean all game better and faster than anyone.

They may leave the OTC tomorrow (Colorado Springs).

Elk, Red, 1911, Travis, 2lumpy and everyone else, chime in if interested in helping and/or meeting them.

If they find themselves 150 miles south of Salt Lake City, down around where I-70 nears I-15 (Richfield) I'd be more than happy to offer some Utah hospitality. My wife and I are tied up Thursday evening, other than that, we are free and easy.

Sounds like they are have a good trip, hope it continues. There is a lot of specacular scenery between Las Cruces and the Great Salt Lake. After that......... long road to the Sierras.

Mexican food. HATCH GREEN CHILES...good grief, they gotta bring back some chiles to you.

I'm a few miles off I80, just East of Reno. Easy for me to meet them...assuming I know the timing.

Oh I know where you are and I planned to have them stay (if Mom agrees) in your town.

2lumpy, It is a pure fact that if my Daughter met you, she would HUG you and tell Mom to head home alone.

There is the same risk but with Mom if she meets you Feddoc, Mom will tell the Daughter to drive Home alone.

Now...?... where is Elk or Red...? Red, you will become life long friends with my wife Debbie ( Cop Wives ). And Elk, my Daughter is Beautiful; but Physically strong so....Behave if Possible...+...She can really Shoot & Hunt & Ride Horses.

Many "Californian's" have big western abilities few know.

Mom called and they are in Colorado Springs.

Mom grew up with my friend, Uncle Sage (Joey) and knows zero of him via this forum. Joey gave her a Home when we were Dating. I miss Sage Advice more than words could explain.

I know Jag, it's a curse. But here's a "pure fact" in return. I couldn't hold up my end of the deal, it's been a bitter disappointment for many young ladies that have come calling these last few years ;-)

A week to ponder

I simply have been amazed at my Wife & Daughters trip. Just today began with them visiting the OTC and before I knew it, they were headed to Aspen. The next call I hear is their voices talking sweetly in the phone saying: "Please Daddy, We Love you"...all Fathers/Husbands have heard this ploy. So I ask, what's up..?.I don't trust them with such a voice.

Yup, they are in an Aspen store looking at necklaces and leather wrist bands etc.You Guy's know what I then said. So I ask, how much are these Souvenirs.? They don't say the price but describe how lovely they are and..well..You all have heard it. So I repeat; "How Much $".

Silence....and innocently as Lambs I begin to hear BARGAIN Prices. Necklaces begin at $1,900.00 and a Leather Wrist Band is "ONLY" $300.00. Then they go into Handbags and Purses....

I never had to say anything...... [ Yet, I knew I actually could say Yes, but I had faith in them ] ..... Then I heard the Girl I Married after High School.... Say; "Honey, we are not staying here tonight, it costs a Million Dollars".... Some of you know that, Being Frugal and having nothing most of our/your lives = "We Can Now Buy, Yet, We can't....It's not "within" who we are". And, Mom & I have NEVER had a vacation together...Never...!

We do things for our Children and, I gave this Trip to My Wife and Youngest Child...also the one I personally Delivered then, went to work, Swing Shift / Sheriff's work..... Nearly 21 Years ago.

Now they are in Grand Junction and tomorrow, going West on 70 then 191 to 6 up into Salt Lake City.

I have been kinda shocked that after I HAD mentioned "Mormon" that only 1 Mormon I know here spoke up. Well, the trip is going along well and the learning part is: "Females sure can do far more than Males and with less money....When, it's a Mother & Daughter goof around Trip".

And, no Law Enforcement Men or Women have yet, spoken out to be a MM'ey friend to poor tired Mom & Daughter

I know the love in Utah. Maybe no one is on MM'eys in this Month...?

But in a small amount of time, a Mom can sure load up any child and take a road trip. Possibly even a Daddy could do such...?

Necklaces and leather wrist bands?

Jag, my friend, they weren't talking wrist bands when I spoke with them, late this afternoon. Leather? Yes! Wristbands? No!

If I understood correctly, and I'm sure I did, that little cowhand of yours was really impressed with some of those Aspen grade boots. I'm sure you know the kind I'm talking about, Lucchese, caiman belly, mad goat, wing and heart, floral uppers and 2.5 inch heels. I suggested some nice antique Garcia silver spurs to highlight the leather, for an added touch.

You did ask for some of us MMer's to offer assistance, so I did.

She was having a difficult time deciding on the powder blue or the smoked pepper red. I told her I figured you'd love to have her have a pair of each. She agreed. A wise young lady, that one.

I think that motel room rate comment that the Mrs. made was a well thought out ruse, and I believe it worked.

I told you to look around NM for a place to retire that the whole family will enjoy.
You could be listening to elk,your wife could have all the boots & bobbles she desires & daughter could be wrangling with some of the best cowgals in the world....but noooo.

Notice MY Posts. I was writing directly to you but being Vague...Due to Honor...and "Respect". I have PM'ed you since I joined but never received a reply, so, I am limited in understanding what you may accept. Shamefully, I am new + from California.

Those above words are NOT Gripes. Some folks like Privacy. Most folks work every day and can not jump out and do whimsical things.

My hope is DW will remember things, chat privately with Lumpy and decide if a Young Pretty Gal might go Elk Hunting with him for, her first time.

Now the Trail Riders are in our Salt Lake City. They sure have seen some country California has a problem matching, yet might, Geographically.

I bought a new High End Computer and it has Windows 10 on it. I just began trying to download pictures the Girls sent and it is not easy. I hope I will find a manner to Post some Pictures.

Elk, I had my highest Hopes up, for them to meet you. I simply have yet to make me a Friend. With your permission and trust, we can work on just that.

Nice pictures Jag. I hope they arrived home safely and have lots of good memories to share from their road trip. By now you should have two new mounts to hang from your trophy wall.

Again, I enjoyed getting to know your family. I hope Stephanie can shot some deer and elk out this way next fall. She's a dedicated young lady.
