I have a 2002 Yamaha 660 Grizzly. I rebuilt the carb due to running poorly, after re-installation the Griz started fine and ran great. After a few minutes it started stalling and fuel was pouring out of the overflow tube in the float bowl. I rebuilt the carb after buying a new one and it having the same issue. Im assuming the needle is not seating properly so I adjusted the float level, same issue. The only thing I can think of now is there is debris in my fuel tank which plug to inlet so the needle doesn't seat properly. I have posted this on some ATV forums which didn't really help, hopefully someone on here has an idea.

Thanks,
Dirty

I ordered one today. I am going to wash out the fuel tank and pour the gas through some cheese cloth to see if there is debris in there. Been jacking with it for a couple months. Tired of carb issues, may just buy a new one soon.

F'N JAP Built YAMAHAMMERS!

Seen a few Things cause problems on that Machine!

One of them had never had the Valve Turned to 'RESERVE' for several years!

All the BS/Dirt accumultated in the bottom part of the Fuel Tank & when it finally was turned to reserve it Filled the Carb with all kinds of BS!

Take that Tank off & Make sure it is Clean/Spotless!

Also:

The ON/OFF/RESERVE Valve on that Machine is Famous for small pieces of Rubber breaking off when it's Turned & the Debris ends up in the needle valve/Needle & Seat in the Carb!

Rule # 1 when working on a Yamaha:

Squint them eyes!

Back Me Off to 1,700 Yards,650 is a Little Close & I'm Not Comfortable with it!

A GUT SHOT at 1,700 Yards will Still Make Some Good BRAGGIN Rights so I Can Say I At Least Hit Him!
