Yeah, I was worried about them and Wiz as well.

Bill

People who work for a living are quickly being
overwhelmed by people who vote for a living.

The smoke in SF is so bad it set off an building fire alarms on California Street from just the smoke blowing over the city.
Bad deal entire neighborhoods going up in smoke, worried about my friends in the Santa Rosa and Sonoma areas as the fire is moving fast.
Not over yet vineyards K-marts entire strip malls gone and people running for their lives.
Bad deal all the way around.
I am praying for these people already ten deaths and 100 missing persons

I e-mailed Brian (Kilo) this morning, and just received a reply. He and his wife had to evacuate at 2 AM. Just the clothes on their back and wallets/checkbooks. Doesn't know if they have a house to go back to!! PC

Paul and Lil Red thanks for the update on Ransom and Kilo, I was getting worried due to no response from them. Right now since they had to evacuate, getting on the computer is the farthest thing from their mind.
Hope they get to go back to their homes and find them standing and intact. We came close to having to evacuate due to the Cascade fire in Yuba County. What saved us was the high winds were blowing in the right direction, N to NW and blew the fire away from us. My son, the cop, spent a 16 hour shift evacuating people from the fire in the Loma Rica area. Three of his fellow officers lost their homes to the fire so did a good friend of ours.
So far only one death known. A woman fleeing the fire and wrecked her car and the fire overtook her vehicle.

We have been on our Generac generator for the past 35 hours due to power lines down.

I found this link that took me time to just see Pictures. Pictures begin with a Deputy Sheriff and a Body.

However, I know every turn on Atlas Peak Rd and I saw some pictures that indicate (at least a Prayer of hope) that my friends way at the top, past the dead end, are ok.

The Pet Cemetery is down low. My kids love me slowing down because the Bucks, very large Bucks, laid on the grass. Even lower is a wide curve and a Truck is shown off to the Left, into rocks. That curve is just a few miles up from the Country Club.

RELH, I am glad You and your Son (Family) are ok. If You need something, anything, just send me a PM. I am able to drive to you any hour.

Jagerdad, thanks for the offer of a helping hand. We have both of our sons close by if needed. If need be, I will hook up the RV trailer and get out of dodge. We also have a good insurance policy on the home and contents.
I feel sorry for those that lost their lives or homes and have to return to a pile of ashes and not enough insurance to rebuild again.
Several of the insurance companies have dropped covering homes in areas of high fire danger recently. My hunting partner and his wife just got their insurance coverage cancelled and they been with that insurance company for over 20 years and have never filed a claim with them. Kind of torks your jaw with insurance companies like that.
They were able to find another company that agreed to cover their home several days ago.

Hope Everybody is Safe!

Eel & Bess, our Cascade fire started in a area that is known to law enforcement as "doper country". I am sure quite a few marijuana fields got lit up by the surrounding manzanita brush.

I searched a few Napa fire videos on YouTube. It is down right terror watching what some of those folks endured. Mother Nature can sure be unforgiving. Anxiously awaiting to hear from many good friends in that area.

Bad news. I just got an e-mail from Brian (Kilo). His house is gone. Lost everything. I think what hurts him the most is losing all his guns/hunting gear and the 34 coupe. Terrible. PC

My son and I, Brian and his buddy were going to staying in Meeker. Hunting the same area. I owe him a lobster dinner. I guess it will have to wait until next year. PC

Thank you all for the concern. Besides Kilos home 2 more good friends have lost their homes too. My daughters have been evacuated. The damage is hard to comprehend.

That is heartbreaking news about Kilo. Glad you made it out though Brian! Things can be replaced. We will keep you in our prayers.

Stay safe everybody.

I thought they had this some what contained but the shifting winds are making things worse and are evacuating Calistoga and many Wineries.

This link above seems to be a Sheriff's Patrol vehicle with its windows rolled up. Unknown what he/she is doing other than driving past fires on the lower part of Atlas Peak, Napa.

It's getting worse they are now talking about evacuating Fairfield as the Sonoma blaze is likely to come over the hill.

This is crazy stuff the smoke is terrible in the City and Oakland. My buddy in Santa Rosa got evacuated last night because they told him that the fire was overrunning them and they were going to defend the city of Santa Rosa at all costs.

This is surreal can't believe it is happening.
Everyone should say a prayer for these people.

So many affected on this site and more, friends family.

Sorry to hear about your situation, Brian. We'll say a prayer for you.

I live in Santa Maria...not Santa Rosa. We are 5 hours from the fires. Please don't tell BESS that though. Dudes like the Night Stalker...but white and without the witty sense of humor.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

EASY Wisz!

I Know when you're going Huntin!:D

Shows Pictures no one could ever would become a Truth.

A Dear Friend who was my GS-15 (as I was his GS-14 in D.C.) lives in Santa Rosa and wrote this to me today: "We opted to evacuate. We are currently in Carlsbad, California".

Carlsbad is gorgeous. Leaving his Home and going there is smart.

I still know nothing about friends (Ranches) at the top and past, of Atlas Peak. Betty Sutro passed away in 2012 but the family ( San Francisco Law & History of such) still has, maybe, people in the small areas around Betty's Home. She sure Loved her Humming Birds on her Porch.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-17 AT 10:40PM (MST)[p]So very sorry to hear about these tragic losses. Yes a loss of life is horrific beyond description but you folks that have lost your homes............ my heart hurts for you and your families. So glad you are a live but I cannot begin to imaging how you can be well.

Our homes are such priceless sanctuaries, most of us don't even ever want to sell and move away from the warm memories of family and friends, let along have one burn to the ground, along with our entire life's histories. For many of us, our home are nearly sacred.

May the Lord comfort you, in your great loss.

Thanks to all of you who wish for us on this damn fire. We have lost everything guns and optics house contents, nothing left. We just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Oct 4th now nothing. Trying to stay in touch by this cell sucks.

Kilo glad you and the wife are safe. That is the most important thing over anything else.
If you lost your guns and optics, I am sure you lost your Hatfield hunting knife. When you get on your feet and before you go hunting again, get hold of me and that knife will be replaced free of charge.
Now give the wife a hug and both of you get your butts to the insurance company and file your claim to rebuild again.

$110,000 bond ? Brown will bail him out and give him a job working for the State. What justice is left in this State ....NONE!

Damn Kilo, from one sparky to another I'm glad you and your wife are ok. I can't imagine loosing everything like that. Thoughts are with you.

Feddoc, thank you so much. But I even lost my license to fire. Was supposed to leave yesterday so told my buddy can not go and leave my wife here alone. Maybe in a few more years if my health allows me at age 78.
