How Much Do WE understand

For those among us whom are veterans of the Vietnam War and those whom are Global Travelers or, educated by your own means with no College Degree Parchment, I am quite curious about you Hunters who either do understand, have an opinion of...or flat out know & understand this subject:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Vietnam

I feel as in Years past...that I write about anything OLYMPIC = the audience here, is silent. Even now. Yes, Eel seeks the Female Pole Vault and this is humor but not a sole in MM'eys has Blood Sweat and Tears in trying to become a Team Member of USA ( Olympic Team ).

Maybe we are Hunters first then Family Men earning a Living and have zero clue how anyone could have Free Time to build their skills in any discipline.

But on the OP, what do any of you understand about Little Vietnam...?

When "I" hear Vietnam, anger arises. Maybe sadness is a better word.

But now in 2017, how us old guys digest: Old Vietnam.... and so many other topics may be our separation from our Children and grandchildren. Like a Tall steep mountain, brush that blocks our path. Maybe "WE" old farts hinder ourselves between our inner memories and the younger folks. Yes...No... ?

Was/Is this topic to deep...? I seriously doubt it, not with you guys.

Are WE.... Little Vietnam or .... do we understand Little Vietnam...as educated Sportsmen..? If yes then we could do so much more. No Attorneys needed. just us.

Elk, you figured out how to capture a picture of a Mug...Big John T...you also. Com'on... think about the topic and read the link.

Now I am hungry for pho or Singapore noodles and a viewing of Full Metal Jacket. This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for fun.....

LAST EDITED ON Nov-05-17 AT 10:36AM (MST)[p]I can't speak to, nor understand the connections you're making between the Olympics, Old Vietnam, or New Vietnam (Little Vietnan), but after reading the link, one thing is abundantly clear, and has been clear since the beginning of humans started relocated, from on country to another. Yet, for whatever reason, be it indifference, stupidity, or intentionally, we continue to ignore the reality of race, culture, national origin integration and language. When immigrants, whether they are refuges, laborers, or otherwise, if they do not master the use of the predominate language, they can't blend, they can't understand the social/cultural environment, they are anxious, fearful and defensive, they isolate, and band together in small, internally secure islands, within the new country. Eventually, they grow in number until they become are in constant conflict with their the majority population.

This statement, in the link you provided, demonstrates that truth very clearly:

"Vietnamese enclaves in the United States tend to live in separated communities according to a study Brown University." ..........

"The same study also found that among Asian Americans, the Vietnamese have the highest rate of poverty.

In contrast, the Vietnamese community in France is well integrated into French society, largely due to better linguistic and cultural knowledge of the host nation among the generation of immigrants."

The French speaking peoples in Canada are a 250 year old example of the problem and it's consequence. The British, to avoid continual French revolts, allowed the French living in Canada to keep their language, which allowed them to keep their culture, which isolated them from the rest of Canada, which have caused constant conflict and frustration, economiclly and ideologically, for both the French and the rest of Canada, for the last 250 years. The French, in Quebec, to this day, want independence from the rest of Canada, and are in constant conflict with everyone else in the country, both east and west.

We ignore the need for a common language and we'll live with the consequences forever.

Not than that answers any of your questions Jag. :)

Yes, this is what was upon my mind. As soon as I saw some of the first replies, I felt like hitting my head against a wall because of the shallow knee jerk replies. I can be guilty of being to intelligent and not writing short basic lines.

BUT 2LUMPY, my hero, saw and felt everything. Thank you DC for your time in making the reply.

Insofar as the link, I thought someone would also see us and our Hunting Grounds as various examples of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enclave_and_exclave

Like enclaves, exclaves and inaccessible districts. Plus, as 2lumpy denoted, we dislike many whom are not exactly as we flavor or are used to. We should be educated in a broader spectrum and get politicians to work for us, not just $. Politicians want votes and $.

I hope this begins a better conversation than many we currently have.

Great Thinking 2lumpy.

Jagerdad :)

Wikipedia link about little Vietnam gets a lot of military people narrowly focused on a war that was not the most popular?
DC's thoughts are well put. Riddles are one thing I am not good at.
The discussion could be a good one if idea's are kept civil and genuine.

I guess you are too intelligent for me, as I cannot follow your disjointed post after reading it carefully twice. It sounds like a drunk post.

"Are WE.... Little Vietnam or .... do we understand Little Vietnam...as educated Sportsmen..?

Unlike them, I follow the Fish & Game laws, so probably not.

Dear cbeard, I never drink alcohol or smoke Marijuana ( Sorry Eel ) Plus, I always believe in Positives and Kindness.

I am quite Happy to see you make a Post.

If you wish to be closer friends, simply send me a PM or a PM with your email. Many Members have my personal email and as such, we are pleased to know each other.

Homer and 1911 do rub me the wrong way in "Some" posts, yet I do plan on giving Homer a real Hug and also, 1911 + Red. I am...or could be, one of your best friends. Simply reach out. I will always reach back to everyone in personal email and phone conversations. Especially the latter.

I do wish I were the next door neighbor to/of everyone who reads this.

The things we Post may be a Riddle to some yet we have a great group...even Hawkeye... :)

Jagerdad :)

I learn from crit-Tah-cisum. I will try to be more brief. That alone has been a Personal challenge. I am weak in that area.

Don't let me rub you the wrong way. I'm not nearly as crass as my cynical and sarcastic online persona would have you believe. Hell, Lumpy drove me around the mountains for two days last week and never kicked me out of the truck. ;)

I no longer believe this to be true. At least the "votes" part. These people want MONEY then perhaps power. Chaffetz(spelling is my strong point), had votes. As a BYU boy, LDS, he has control of his district. Yet he left, if course only after making a "name" for himself that he could sell.

There is no other way to explain Bishop s desire to give away public land. The day after that would pass, you can bet he too would resign to "spend more time with my family".

In our world, THE DON and $FW figured that out years ago. It wasn't the votes he could bring in, it was the size of checks their ranks could write. Thus, while the "average Joe" enclave groups together with our voices and votes, the state continually gives the "big check" enclave what they want.

All true Jager! To my utter shock and disgust, the young man is a consummate gentleman.

I need to be way more careful who I pick up along the road. Around here, a guy can ruin a bad reputation, in the blink of an eye! :D

2lumpy... between you and I... in a Secret Conversation...Here... I always knew 1911 is a fellow Law Enforcement Brother and Red is simply the same...Hence... They get a Hug. Yes, I am Strong and a German.

The same goes for grouchy Homer. he could never defend against one of my Hugs...

many Monster Muleys jump at tossing Fire on a stick at anyone who does openly on this forum, even a tad bit...in their view...as attack-able. Like Founder selling info on good Bucks location. Crap, I could care less about such things down in the weeds.

I deal ( Better said...Care about ) with matter far higher than just above dirt level.

If some have roots in LDS... I instantly Love such folks. if I detect Love for his fellow Man in someones writings, again: I instantly Love the writer.

1911 is FAR From the only Law Enforcement person reading this forum yet everyone runs to 1911 for any LE topic. Odd as such is, I accept it and follow right along.

I just wish we has 100 2lumpy's.... Posting Daily. I think Feddoc and DW especially and Forthewall could lay down in Comfort here under Campfire.

Sageadvice... I am calling you back as a friend....well, once the untamed animal rich gets done with you...on a Hunt. I really Love you as always Joey. I Hope you know this deeply.

We have so Many great, experienced Minds under Campfire we need to be more robust, as a group. RELH, I would like to order a few knives. I sent you an email with my friend from England (another friend I had join this group ).

Eel, you are very young at Heart.... + Funny. Send Posted Pictures of everything. I sure wish one member would offer Hunting Help/Trip to a a great friend who hates California..He has a Masters Degree...and wants to move out of the State + Have helping buddies but he is SHY.

Crap...I opened up when I didn't plan to write and ask for such help to/for an introverted wonderful man who needs a career away from California in Accounting/Payroll

See... Brevity and I never meet.

OMG... I was writing from my Heart so fast that I made Grammar errors. Ugh... I never allow such.

I apologize. I do care about my Grammar and spelling. I regret such sloppy'ness.

The things that matter to me, is unseen and simply accepted by all of you, as Friends.

OK, I blabbed about a dear friend who wants OUT of California.

Yes, He has a Masters Degree and is an Accountant. He is friendly and Humble +... He could do your taxes easily.

Is their any MM'ey who would/will tell me here in/on this Post or in a PM that YOU WOULD be willing to be introduced to this friend...?

He makes and made; You Tube Video's. Crap... I am reveling tooooo much. Just seek on You Tube: mannyCA and you have found my friend.

See how much sensitive personal things "I" am willing to disclose to all of you. Would/could YOU do the same on this forum...? This may be how we change our friendships. Most MM'ey members do NOT KNOW other MM'ey Members.

Lets change such simply via TRUST.

Hugs... Jagerdad :)

"The same goes for grouchy Homer."

Funny you would mention ole "grouchy" Jager.

Answering a knock on my door, three or four weeks ago, a tall, farm hardened fellow, with a happy smile and a twinkling eye shoved out a large weathered hand and said, "Hi I'm Homer. Are you 2lumpy?"

I figured, "oh, sh!t........................ I'm screwed!"

I hung my head and humbly said, "yyyya."

For the next hour we swilled diet coke, on the rocks, talked and laughed about how ridiculous, immature, and asinine all you other MM'ers are. One of the most uplifting and self aggrandizing hours I've every spent. Homer was anything but grouchy, one of the most pleasant/happiest people that's ever crossed my threshold.

And........... just to set the record straight, I"m not German, so I didn't have to Hug him. I'm quite certain he was heart broken! :D

By the way, Homer's boy's went 6 for 8 and they were all nice bucks. Homer eat tag soup, again. Tell's you right there what kind'a hunting buddy ole Homer is.
