I have to plan a family reunion for 50+ people next summer and I need ideas. Most of the people live in Utah, but I don't care if they have to drive to Wyoming where I live. Usually they stay in cabins at Bear Lake or Brianhead, but those spots are getting old.

Suggestions?

Rule # 1!

August through November is out!

Back Me Off to 1,700 Yards,650 is a Little Close & I'm Not Comfortable with it!

A GUT SHOT at 1,700 Yards will Still Make Some Good BRAGGIN Rights so I Can Say I At Least Hit Him!

Knowing the Type of folks (*) and their History insofar as what has happened at all former reunions helps us Neophytes.

* = are they Young, Old, % of each former, do they have Open Minds to accept Humor or are more introverts than extroverts..?
This is akin to saying Elk did your reunion and X-Rated dancers appeared with Hawaiian music/drums etc... would they (all guests) say Elk did a swell job...? or would 90% walk out cussing at you...?

Inquiring minds want to know :)

I agree that August 15-November 30th is off limits.

We are are a typical, somewhat boring, LDS family from Utah. Normal reunions tend to involve time on the lake and BBQ. Honestly, I was hoping they would skip my year to plan it in 2018 because I am a bit of an anti my family reunion person.

I am thinking Flaming Gorge or Strawberry, but who knows where we will end up.

Why can't we just hit a park one afternoon and grill some steaks?

I'd give you a pass and make darn sure you missed getting next year's invitation.

What family wants a reluctant host?

Some of us think our boring family is a pretty special bunch of misfits.

I drive over 2000 a year to attend my four hour family reunion, my grandparents have been dead for 50 years and my parents been dead for over 20 years.

Yellowstone
Grant Village is right on the lake!

That is where we stayed with my sister and her family. We stayed in our camp trailers.

Next summer we go with my wife's family and are staying in West Yellowstone. Using their vacation club property.

Well done sir!!!!??

Got any hot aunts that want to outcross??
Elkass will BBQ.....

Have the reunion in Vegas and tell your family members to plan on staying at Nevada Landing. :/

I agree with above posts that you would not be getting the invite to next years shindig.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

Ditto on rule #1.

Personal story: last spring my younger brother said he was getting married. Set date for Oct 28th ...in Hawaii. I didn't make it. Don't think he wanted me there...LOL.

I killed a buck!!

Starvation can be a fun spot also.

Get a bunch of long dresses, flannel shirts & wheelbarrows/handcarts & pay tribute to your heritage by walking across the hot windy Wy plains ;)

Did that once, once was enough but it was a good experience. Not as fun as chasing WY lopers though.
