Anyone cruised to these Ports ?
I booked a cruise and just checking for good fishing advice . I have a t-shirt from Nassau for Reel Dreams charter in Nassau. Just a t-shirt club random charters t-shirts at one a month.
I might scuba dive as I'm certified and also considering Dual Parasailing.
Thanks for any experience you care to share.

I'm sure there is good fishing to be had with a charter out on the tongue of the ocean out of Nassau. The town itself is nothing remarkable and can be in fact quite dangerous for a white man if you venture iinto the wrong neighborhood. I spent a couple of years living aboard a 32 foot sloop, mostly in the Bahamas. We called it Nasshole for a reason, you might be happier with St. Johns, it would certainly be prettier since it has some mountains. My information is over 30 years old now so things could have changed.

I just got back from Nassau and it wasn't harmed much at all from hurricane Maria and Irma.

St. John was ravaged and I'm surprised cruise ships are even stopping there.

I didn't do any fishing or scuba diving so I can't help you there.

We stayed on Paradise Island.

I think crime is high on all of these islands if you wind up in the wrong place.

If you go to the Caribbean if you have to prepare yourself mentally for "Island time". Just understand going in that prices are going to be high and service slow.

We went to a Jimmy Buffet Margaretville for breakfast and:

Wife ordered a mimosa, waiter came back and said the guy bringing the champagne hadn't got there yet.

Waiter then came back and asked if we could pay with a credit card, the guy bringing the money from the bank hadn't got there yet.

We then ordered eggs benedict, the waiter came back and said the guy bringing the supplies with the sauce hadn't got there yet.

But it's a beautiful place and we will go back.

Save your money, the fishing is not worth the money unless you just want to go for a boat ride. We were at Nassau for a week. Get a taxi and have them take you to the fish grotto. Tons of various cooked fish samplings by various out door vendors. Stay away from Atlantas unless you want to spend a lot of money, $25..00 per hamburger, $15 per beer you get the picture. Stay in populated areas, lots of cabs, friendly people, but its like every place. They want your money....

))))???->

Just so you know, as stated above, Nassau is nothing special, island is pretty flat no street signs easy to get lost. They drive on opposite side of the road so be aware and cautious. Water is beautiful but infrastructure is poor, many places never repared from past hurricanes trees over roads and they just never cleared anything. No corals or good fish to see so if you spend money for scuba or fishing you will be disappointed.

))))???>

We did see the parasailing from our resort they do that near the port where the cruise ships dock.
Thats your best bet IMO. Then go to the fish grotto to eat. Plus bottled water only....no ice unless you are at a resort hotel.

I flew to Nassau several times in a C12. Lotsa things to do. We went there to get pie. Or rum.
