I never really paid a whole lot of attention to them when I was younger. Now that I'm older and I hear about people I know dying, I've paid a little more mind.

I'm starting to think maybe I know more dead people than live people.

And just about all the people I read about had a better life than me. I'm not nearly as good a person as they were.

This whole thing is pretty depressing.

JRABQ, I didn't know him but he seemed kind of normal. Just a regular guy. :)

Sorry for your loss DW...too many are dying.

Wow I wonder who wrote the obituary for him? He must have been a mean bugger to everyone he knew or not loved.

See Eel and you think all of these people are better than you. Be thankful for what you have.

1. Your still here
2. Your reading their obituary not them reading yours.
3. Your an MM regular
4. Your a good friend and a great writer of stories.
5. Your from Kali
6. Your love of life is hard to beat
7. Your reading this and those others in the obituaries are
not.

Your the man and have a great life and remember when they write the obituaries they usually say the good things people
have done. But I am sure that there are issues that we are all not proud of in everyone's life.

Let's go fishing for Halibut and crabs

DW, sorry for your loss. I'm down to one remaining uncle myself.

That obituary was hilarious. The kind I would like to right for some of the people I have encountered. Not all people are good.

The best thing about growing old is that I can put my youth and stupid mistakes behind me. It is funny how little I care now for the things that seemed important as a kid, and I finally respect the old man cruising down the sidewalk in huge dark glasses and polyester suit, oblivious to the stares of kids who cannot understand independence or confidence born of achievement.

I am glad to have known better people, and suppose that they, too, have put youthful exuberance behind them. At some point, we become the better people that others look up to. And if our kids remember us as we remember our own heroes, then that is enough.

Well said, bullskin.

My Dad always said "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself". It still makes me chuckle.
