Worst day ever.

My dad fell and broke his hip shortly after the new year. He has been in assisted living after getting a replacement to get rehab.

Last night he took a turn for the worse and. Now I find myself in the terrible position of watching him slowly slip away in the ICU.

My dad is 74 which is pretty young in my opinion. This dreadful situation has come exactly ten months to the day of losing my little sister.

The point of my post is not for others to feel sorry for me. But to remind all those who read here to never take a moment in life for granted. Life is short. I am blessed to know through my Savior Jesus Christ our families will be together again, but it is such great sorrow to see others leave us as they continue their eternal progression.

I hope you have more good times to look forward to. I don't know what my prayers are worth, but you have them.

Sad to read this 1911

My Dad is 86 and in the VA home up in Weber County and since his hip issue he has been in a wheel chair but is in good health and spirits.

Hopefully your Dad will pull thru and recover well.

My prayers to you and your Dad, nursing homes are a sobering reality for all and should be visited often.

My mother in law is terminally ill right now. One thing she said a couple of weeks ago was, "I can't believe how fast I got here". I agree with your statements 1911 and I hope things go easy with your dad. Good to hear your faith is strong.

Nothing much worse than watching someone you love slip away. Live and love while you can because it goes by so quickly.

Sorry 1911 my prayers are with you and your family.

Dad's have a special place in our hearts. While he is in the nursing home you have time to talk to him and maybe record some of your favorite hunting stories or family reunions.

I lost my dad in 2002 and wished I had went over and talked to him about the big deer he shot on the Henry's and recorded it. I really miss those things and others about my dad just wished I would have preserved them while I could.

Best to you and your family

Sorry to hear this 1911. I was just thinking how grateful I was to hunt with my dad this year at 80 years old. Hoping for the best out come.

Prayers to your family. I lost mine nearly two years ago now and not a day goes by without wishing I could go back and get out on the mountain or the lake with him again or that I don't regret not finding the time to get out more with him in his later years. To those of you with an able dad, don't take for granted the chances you still have. You may not understand now but I promise one day you will.

Oh Man I feel your pain I know all to well. You have had more then your share as of late. As have I. Prayers are with you and your dad. In all sincerity if you need anything let me know. I still run the hounds out behind your obd office Rutnbuck

Prayers sent to you and the whole family.

1911 , watching you go through this , I've seen you hut rock bottom but also I see you growing as a person , it's hard, but we will be there for you , you have many friends , here and home , and also both jobs , that love you , have faith in yourself.as a leader .
I hope This painful part ends soon , so you can start to rebuild , and start a new chapter .

Time is a strange and wonderful thing. 2005 - 2006 I lost my only sister, my Dad, my life long best friend. Thought I was going to lose my mind.. think I did for awhile. Fast forward 12 years. I now cherish the memories of those lost and simply love and appreciate the family around me.
You'll be fine one niner one one.
