When our baby Stevie was born it was the biggest day of my life
Lying there, little bows in her hair
In the loving arms of my wife
I was the proudest papa in the USA

It was a happy day, but kinda' sad

Little Delanie hit her first home run
She was the hero of the home town crowd
Two to one, it was a winning run
Everybody was cheering loud
And mommy she was smilin' saying She's a chip off of the old block
But I was on the road somewhere between Memphis and Little Rock

It was a happy day but kinda' sad

Now Stevie and Delanie are all grown up
And moved away
They stay in touch
We're proud of the two good kids we raised
And it's hard to believe we are celebrating our twenty fifth year today
This party's nice but the kids aren't here
At least they called to say

Nice, BE BOP! I like John Andersons tone. My Mom can't stand him. If there's one thing I did right with my kids it's that I went to every game I was able to and praised them when they did well and lifted them up when they played poor. They knew that there were winners and losers on the field or court. They knew that not every player deserves a trophy. They knew that if you work hard, good things will come of it. They are using those same beliefs in school and in will use them in the work force when the time comes. I got good kids. Proud of all 4 of them.

Love your kids because, like our parents, we won't be a priority to visit....we'll be a luxury. Just like our lives became, our kids' lives will be too busy for us. Circle of life....
