Loss of a friend

I got a sad text this morning.

The sender said ?my wife is dead and Lydia is in ICU with not much hope of survival, from a car accident?.
?Please pray for us!?

OMG! I think to myself ?who is this texting me??
The number looks familiar but I'm not sure of the sender?s name, I'm hoping this is not my friend Jan?s husband Rick. I keep reading the text over and over thinking how do you spell Jan?s daughters name I keep writing it down and looking at the spelling in the text. it's correct. But I'm still hoping I'm wrong and that someone just hit the wrong numbers on their phone. I get a lot of wrong numbers calls and texts.

I hurry and google her name and it's true.

My friend Jan and her 20 year old daughter Lydia were east bound on I-44, coming home I guess? Were stopped in traffic from road construction, when a 33 year old truck driver was reaching for his Mountain Dew that fell and went under the dash and when he rose the cars in front of him were all stopped.

Rest In Peace Jan you'll be missed!

Sorry to hear of this tragedy, happens all to often. I've lost some dear friends in auto ? accidents?. Hope and pray for the family and young lady who was injured.

Wow! To make it even worst if that's possible my friend Jan and daughter Lydia were coming back from TX after helping her oldest daughter Corinne plan her June wedding when the accident happen

I Pray for You giving Rick, Your Time and Ear, to Listen if he needs you more. Texting and emails are far from, Hugs and Holding a Persons hand plus looking into their eyes yet, it is the new normal. Not judging, just saying if you are allowed to Talk with Rick, such will be good for all. He may update you on Lydia's condition.

Eel, once again, above, said it correctly for me.

I tried to look up the accident but stopped looking. I regret you lost your friend. I saw this post early am and it has weighed upon me if I should comment. Often, I no longer do know what some on MM needs. I am always here, to be your friend, even if I stumble in this or other posts.

OMG! I think my terrible writing and thinking skills have failed me again.

It was my friend Jan Fenton that was killed (Not my wife Kristie) and it's Jan?s daughter Lydia Fenton thats in ICU with not much hope. OH I'm So Sorry To Everyone for this mess up. Please except my apology.

The accident happen on Monday April 9th on Interstate 44 in Mo. If you google Jan R Fenton you'll find the accident report etc.

I just heard about it yesterday Saturday morning from her husband Rick Fenton by text messages.

I think that I was just overwhelmed with emotion that when I wrote this post I knew what I was saying but it was unclear to the reader.

Again I'm so sorry to all for the mix up

This is the exact reason I hate to stop in heavy traffic. I have been hit from behind but not to this effect.

Condolences on your loss of a friend. Prayers sent. People cannot believe how fast bad things can happen when you get distracted.

Same thing happened to my son in law couple months ago. Stopped in traffic and looked in mirror to see lady approaching at 65 mph looking down on her phone. Totaled his car around him, but survived. Undergoes another surgery this week.
