About this time of year I take as many of the 21 grand kids that will go on a mile and a half backpack to our secret spot. We have a BIG campfire, eat a lot, explore, do a compass course, and culminate with giving them something that their mothers disapprove of, (in the past it has been wrist rockets, pocket knifes, etc.).
This year it will be a shepherds sling.
