6.7l powerstroke

Before it comes up I run horse trailers on dirt roads so the whimpy GM front end wont hold up.so no chevy opinions will much matter. I have seen to many friends and family members go through their chevy front ends to care for

THIRSTY!

Did I Mention THIRSTY?

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

I'm running a 2016 6.7 only complaint so far is the 26 gallon tank. But did do full deletes with ez lynk programmer 5? exhaust and no limits intake. Also added an aluminum flatbed, 2.5? suspension lift with 35s, 40 gallon transfer flow transfer tank, airbags, and a Fab Four full bumper with a warn winch. Towing my 32? travel trailer with a wheeler on the flatbed I averaged 11.3 from elko,nv to Blanding,ut and empty back to elko averaged 17.8. I owned a 2012 Cummins deleted also prior and I'd take the 6.7 ford over the Cummins-better fuel mileage and rides better on and off road.

LAST EDITED ON May-29-18 AT 06:58PM (MST)[p]I have a 2011 with the 6.7. No complaints so far with 66,000 miles.

Edit:
I should say that the only few complaints I have is the rough ride and wheel hop. I know those solid axels are stronger but you certainly feel it. Wheel hop is crazy but that could be because I'm in sandy areas a lot. The power it has allows me to forgive most of my pet peeves. I don't drive it too much and take a 1/2 ton to do most of my outdoor stuff. When I want power, I drive it.

I have had the a 7.3 and a 6.0 powerstroke. The 6.7 is the best so far. I have modified both the 7.3 and 6.0. I have done nothing to my 6.7. Even put back my Urea tank when the heater went out. I hear they get better gas mileage and run better without them. But didn't want to effect my warranty and smog if it ever got checked. All in all in runs better stock then the other two modified. I have 119,000 on it a 2011.

Ive got a '14 and a '16. Love them both. Not a single issue at all. Powerful, quiet and smooth.

In the past Ive had a 6.9 and 4 7.3s. I like the 6.7s more.

Good to hear guys. My 6.0 at 270k miles seems to be getting tired. Still runs decent it's just time to move on. Thanks to napa gold filters, rotella t6 oil,rev x and the sinister EGR delete I have by far gotten some hard earned miles out of this 6.0 and my money's worth. I hope this new truck lives up to the expectations

I have a 2014 crew cab with an 8' bed. I currently have 85,000 miles on it, and it has always run great. With the 6.7, it has power to spare. With a 44 gallon tank, I can go a long, long way.

I've had the 7.3,6.4,and the 6.7. Currently have a 2017 crew cab short bed. Only had it for a month and took my 36 foot fifth
wheel camper out this weekend and got 11.5 miles a gallon. Had other 6.7's like this one the best. Better ride and a bigger tank 34 gallons.

Ford now has the best diesel. Smog has caught the Cummins & the fact they de-tune them for the manual tranny hurts more. Throw in the fact the clutches they run now should be in a car. All the Dodge boys that I know are not happy & they actually say that. The 6.7 is here to stay unless more smog related crap comes about. And, at end of day, all of em ran great before the smog inclusions to each manufacturer. The latest Duramax is also the best GM has created.

Have 220,000 on my 2012 Powerstroke. It's a great truck hoping to get another 80,000 on it. I work on rigs and the lease roads aren't the easiest and on days off I'm hauling cattle or tractors on 24? goosenecks so they certainly are highways miles. Truck is not tuned and almost completely stock

I have had a few mechanical failures I will list below with mileage they occurred at:
187,000 - coupling on hot side of intercooler blew out. I would recommending replacing both hot and cold side hoses once your warranty expires there are several good options that don't require tuning
210,000 - vacuum pump gasket failure causing oil leak nothing too crazy gave me several weeks of use to get it repaired without issue just had to keep oil topped off.
Temperature sensors on the exhaust where and issue but have supposedly been improved swap all out at about 85,00 Miles.

I will be getting a new one hopefully north of 300,000 and wouldn't think of going with something other then Ford.

Won't Mikey warranty it for you without the pig piss tank?

Bought both new. 2015 SRW F350 long bed. Put 100K miles on it no problem. Hauling 20K lbs 85% of the time on gooseneck. --- 2017 F450 put 40K miles on it before moving/deploying. Hauled 30K lbs 90% of time with gooseneck. No problems. I'm a Ford guy and as long as you take care of them, they will take care of you. No airbags either and barely sagged.

Haven't tried the 6.7 but I hear good things. I have a 97 7.3 with 133,000 and it runs great. I'm getting the chip and exhaust mods done in 2 weeks. I'm curious to see how well it runs then.

Everybody says chevy front ends suck, which they aren't great but I don't agree that Ford or dodge front ends are any better... when I was a mechanic I did work on all 3 but by far the chevy was the cheapest to fix and didn't need it any more often than the dodge or Ford. Complete front end rebuild on a chev is in the $800 range, dodge and Ford $1500. Ballpark numbers of course.

Funny how a stroker won't beat a duramax in a drag race. They'll jump them off the line but the Ford is geared lower so they get passed. The 6.0 is a joke... the 7.3 is just a loud chunk of slow gutless metal... and the duramax gets better fuel economy.

Im sure this post will make a lot of people mad and everyone has their own glory stories about their Ford or dodge. To each their own. But I'll keep driving gm.

I have tried a Ford, and a dodge but they were very short lived, full of problems and was never so happy to get away from a vehicle as I was them. Also had Ford work trucks and they're the only ones that ever left me stranded.

Gearing-

Dodge 3.42
Ford 3.55
Chev 3.73

Chev is geared lowest. It should get the jump off the line but who's buying a diesel for racing? I buy them to pull. I've owned all three. I'm currently running a 17 ford. It's the best truck I've ever owned.

))))----------->

If it Ain't Got 3:73's or 4:10's I Don't want it!

Dodge went to 3:42's in their Diesels as the standard Gear Ratio,WAFJ!

I Guess Americans are so F'N Lazy they don't/Won't drive a Standard Tranny!

I'd Drive a New one of any Brand though!

Anybody that has money enough to own one won't use it as a Truck!

They gotta buy their-selves a F'N 30K Side by Side so they don't Scratch their F'N Main Street 4X4!

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

Torque Guy's, WHY couldn't a Diesel have 1968 Corvet'z 273 Rear End all Beefed up, of course ... ?

Jagerdad :)

PS: Torque + 273 Rear End

PSS: 4 Elk, Torque and an Automatic Trans = ?

PSSS: Who has a Splitter in Auto or Manual Trans = ?

PSSSS: Where has all of our 327's and 350's TRI-Flow's gone = ?

Japan + Technology maybe

My son has this truck and I can tell you it is one pulling son of a gun. We pulled his fully loaded 32' toy hauler at 80 mile an hour and it didn't even seem like we were pulling anything. Amazing truck engine truly a beast. It will pull anything.

The early ones rated at 440 horsepower and 800 foot pounds of torque .
The new models are 450 horsepower and 935 foot pounds of torque.Ya the pull pretty good. But I did blow a boost hose last year. Pulling a dump trailer. I guess the top boost hose is abs plastic. I cracked it about 3 inches. Just tapped it back up until I got home. Then bought a Upper boost hose upgrade from H&S diesel . Any truck has its little problem areas. You just find them and make the improvement. With the internet it easy to find those problem areas. You ether wine and cry about it or take care of the problem.
Bessy for the record my Razor rides Sofa king smooth !

I have had several of the 6.7's. I have 2 2018 models now. I love them and the new ones have a 48 gallon fuel tank in the long bed models.

I beat the crap out of them all the time and they keep on running. Fuel mileage isn't the best.

If you have to have work done on them after the warranty it can get expensive. If an employee puts DEF in the fuel tank it will cost you about 15k by the time you get everything fixed back the right way.

No real need for tuners and deletes. They have plenty of power.

I never run them over 60k miles before trading them. I have never had one in the shop since they started with the 6.7 motor.

Dodge lost me forever until they address the gearing. I thought I needed at least 3.73 but I've been nothing but impressed with my ford. It flat out PULLS! My 5th wheel is 18k loaded. The truck pulls it like a dream

I broke down and purchased a new truck. this SOB better last me 15 years. but after testing and researching all 3 diesel models.
