Who remembers coming in from recess and seeing the projector all set up. For some reason the mood always seemed to shift from, we HAVE to come back to class ? to A MOVIE!! ?

My favorites were always the Jimini Cricket movies. Educational with a bit of cartoon and humor thrown in. The best part is if you could talk your teacher into playing it backwards as she let the film rewind. ?

I sort of miss that sound of the projector humming as the film played. ?

I remember those days well. Old Jiminy Cricket was the "Narrator" on dozens of Disney educational movies. My parents had an old 16mm projector back then as well. I used to love running that thing. When ever it was one of my brothers or sisters birthday, my dad would run down to Disney Studios and pick up a movie to run on the 16mm projector. Swiss Family Robinson, Blackbeard's Ghost, That Darn Cat, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, and so on. It was a fun time. Some of my brothers have a few old Jiminy Cricket narrated 16mm movies.

We even got lucky at times to watch those Jacque Cousteau TV specials before the public on that same projector. Mr. Cousteau used to bring a reel to the house for all of us to watch. It was pretty cool.

Great memories.
