Thanks Utah

Speaking of la la land get a clue two point. Eel is probably the most genuine person on here and he was genuinely saying thanks with no knowledge of this tragedy at the time he posted. If you go through life looking to be offended I can promise that's what you'll see.

We can't thank these firefighters enough that bust their butts to help people they don't even know. My prayers go out to the ones that have lost their lives, the latest firefighter from Utah who I believe was married and has a young son.
Great post eel!

2-P is that how you feel really,Just because you have no heart couldn't be a brave man that was willing to put his life up to help others.
My prayers go out to his family and friends.

2_Point, I deeply apologize if I offended anyone with my utard comment. Over the years the term utard has become a term of endearment.....most of the time..

I'm saddened by the loss of the firefighter. I was a forest fire fighter for two summers and understand how dangerous it is. My condolences to his family and fellow fire fighters.

Gator my comment was a response to the original use of the word utard. seems disrespectful to refer to men and women putting their life on the line with a degrading name.

eel is a good dude that made a poor remark. i know his heart after reading him for a decade. thanks for the clarification eel.

eel
I recognized you wear being sincere with your thanks with your original post to tell you the truth i did not even recognize the utard part until i just got on and saw the follow up comments.

From a Volunteer Fire Chief in Utah who sends out guys every summer for assignments on incidents in California, Idaho, Wyoming and hear in Utah it is my greatest fear i will get a call that something has happened to one of my guys. Today i fell very deeply saddened by the news i heard this morning.
Lets all just remember we all our trying to do are part to make this world a little bit better place to live.
God Bless his Family

"Thanks Utah", "We owe you, stay safe". Then eel clarifies himself and he's still getting beat up. Maybe people need to quit being so sensitive!
I talked to some folks that are up on the fire. I was told the fireman was struck by a falling tree. It's an absolute tragedy, and I pray for his family and friends.
I thank eel for starting this post and recognizing the unselfish sacrifice that took this mans life.

hwy, thanks very much.

notdonhunting, it must be heart wrenching to lose one of your own. I felt very close to my crew when I was a firefighter. We lived together, ate together, trained together, and worked together. We looked out for each other. I couldn't imagine losing one of our crew. I just did it for two summers right out of high school while going to college. It was for CalFire. After two summers they offered me a full time year around job as a fire truck driver. I had other plans, but it was a great experience.

Never mind overton, he gets grumpy sometimes.

My condolences to the families of Mr. Burchett and others who have lost their lives on the fire line. Let us hope there will be no more.

That was a long time ago. It's all Eel River water under the bridge. The water you stole. And now I thought you were grumpy because I trespass and squat on your Shelter Cove land.
