I picked up a project truck last night, finally found one that is clean and hasn't been beat or turned into Frankenstein! Anybody else into rebuilding vehicles? Post up pictures!

I picked up this 86 wagoneer in July and after a tune up, a few minor repairs to the power windows and rear tailgate and Installing a 3" lift and 32s, she came out pretty good and runs like a dream. My mother-in-law was complaining and asking why their 60k truck didn't ride as smooth as my $1600 jeep! Lol

Body on the frame. Frame plates welded on. New body lift install the body armor. Cutting the front roll cage tying it into the dash. Need a new radiator and Gen Right fuel tank. The motor is just setting up there in the open. Maybe it needs a LS 3 and a Atlas transfer case ? Hummm ?

Well I've been obsessed with jeeps since I was a teenager. Have had some nice ones over the years and some I wish I'd never sold. I'd been without one for nearly 20 years and my son bought a 72 CJ-5 and that got me inspired to build a high hood. Started with a postal jeep frame and a solid 54 body. Put 44s front and rear 4w disc brakes , rubicon springs, ARG steering box and pump ,T-18 4speed and 327 small block. Got that all together then lost interest for about a year. Finally got inspired again and made a push and finished it up in about 4 months. My son and I did most of the work .Had help from friends with the cage, wiring and a few other things. It's pretty much a pavement pounder as nobody around here jeeps anymore.

Ive built a couple of jeeps from the ground up.

My 65 had a 4-bolt 350, Muncie 4 speed from a Z28, new body, 5.38 gears, new 22% overdrive...the only thing that wasn't new or rebuilt on it was the frame and the chrome trim rings around the headlights. And the steering shaft. It was a great deal of work to hang all the wires, connect all the bolts, etc. There were three things I didn't do myself; paint work, machinging the heads and balancing the new driveshaftse. I had a Holley 750 on top. It was kinda quick.

The other was a bit more built. 87 CJ7, 6" lift, 4 bolt 350, .040 over, Art Carr T400 tranny, stall converter, 4.56 gears on 1-ton axles, Detroit lockers, fuelie heads, 850 double pumper.

This newest project has me stumped as I can't quite get the carbs timed right....

What kind of mileage do you get with the new project feddoc?

About 3 gpm.

Yeah, it seems you need to time the carbs.

3 Gallons Per Motor, That not bad.

I picked up some projects : new fence, bigger driveway with new curb and gutter, basement plumbing , new water heater, building another shed and many more things...whew...lol

I've always wanted a project vehicle but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to working on cars and trucks. I'd have to hire everything done so it wouldn't be much of a project.

My neighbor has a 1968 Camaro in his garage that he bought about 30 years ago. All original 396 car. He must be like me because he's never started working on it. That's what would happen to me.

Mine kinda hit a wall, but a new crate motor and a bunch of parts will be in the way soon! The ups guy is going to hate me!

Eel ... if I may: You are good with Wood so, start a Project of making a 2nd Totem Pole in the shape of an old Brass Fire Nozzle aimed at your Home.

Or, Place a used Fire Engine on your front lawn as a symbol of; a Project Vehicle .. ?

Jagerdad :)

Or I could get a big Redwood log and carve out a life sized 1 piece 1965 GTO.

Here's a 69 RS/SS Camaro that I literally drug out of a barn back in 2000. I did a total frame off restoration and had my fun with it until last year when I reluctantly sold it.

Golly ... !!! The only two things "I" want is an Old Jeep ( WWII ) and a Honda Trail 110.

I must still be on Santa's Bad Boy list :-(

Jagerdad :-(

My son picked up this 90 with 25,000 miles. He had a big bore kit put in it. He did all the work him self. It has taken time but it is in pretty good shape. He left her in her working clothes.

502; that is some nice power.

One of my all time favorite cars. The 502 is just makes it that much better.

Idahoron ... YOU ARE KILLING "ME".

Now that I am SO "FAT", I seek a 110.

My Wife and I have NEVER TAKEN a Vacation. I now Dream of My Young Bride of 40+ Years to be, alone, up near Mt. Shasta, simply driving the Mountain Roads... "TOGETHER". As if we were once again .... Young.

Sorry Readers for me exposing feelings. We can't afford a Side By Side 4 wheeler type ATV.

Jagerdad :-(

oh....yeah....the picture is confusing. That is an old hit and miss engine......with a jackson fork on top of it.....confuses the pic. I take it down once in a while and run it.

I forgot to include a pic of my 1945 Studebaker weasel.....I'll do that tomorrow.

You can tell it's still loved. Seats, tires, exhaust and body are great. For having almost 60 years of use and not be hammered junk is nice. I wouldn't do anything to it either. Maybe give it a parking spot in your shop.

Okay. Now the top car. I heard Kilowatt came for a visit. Is that his daily driver? With original tires:D

Eel ... Hint .... Forget about the Corvette.

Pat close attention to the Building ... it's Sq Feet, it's Non-Combustible areas .... + U ... Mr. Eel, could/should NOT ... Repeat, NOT EVER ... seek such a Corvette when you live in (Like ELK in a manner) in, Law Enforcement + Helicopter & Satellite Observations ZONE of "Anything" Moving fast.

You Eel & I may only DREAM of Great Toys other Guys Have (and have held on to). So Mr. Eel .... Do you often have a Bowell Movement, which You wish would/could flow (GO) Fast with Torque ... ? Just wondering Buddy.

Let's Fish and forget those alive and active Relatives.

Jagerdad :)

Stay with me Eel.

Ok eel....the 1966 corvette. i got it about 25 years ago...fenders were flared and it was freshly painted...but had no engine. It had only the hard top and was originally a 327 car with a 2 speed powerglide. I put a period 427 in it with a turbo 350 instead of the powergilde. I originally put all the clutch parts and muncie 4 speed like all corvettes should have....but quickly found out that they weren't designed for 6'5 guys with long legs...I seriously couldn't drive it so I put the automatic in it..I found a convertible top frame for it, covered that and that is on it now.....it has a 1967 big block hood

My 17 year old thinks he should be driving it to school..

The weasel.....

LAST EDITED ON Aug-30-18 AT 06:43AM (MST)[p]Jager, I know how they feel. I had a '65 GTO tri-power 4 speed at one time. I put a 411 rear end in it. I dragged a '67 fuel injected 427 Corvette one night.....and won! I refused a rematch. The only local car that could beat me was a '67 Camaro with a 396.

Hello everyone,
I have started my basement renovation project.

A bit of a disclaimer, I am not an expert, I do not claim to know everything about renovations. I am just trying to figure out the theory part of my project and will keep you posted on how it goes.
