We'll last night my youngest daughter was playing in her h.s. basketball playoff game against a private school from San Fran. There was a girl on there s.f. team that pretty big probably about 6' and pushing 200lbs man she was rough and throwing her weight around the whole game. She was pushing and elbowing our catch complained to the refs multiple time and nothing happened until half way thru the 3rd my daughter had had enough the girl came down and elbowed my daughter in the ribs knocking the wind out of her and some words were exchanged them the big girl swung on my daughter but missed. My daughter then grabbed the big girl by her Jersey and landed about 7-8 right hands to the side of the girls face before it got broken up. There were parents coming out of the stands it got pretty Western for a minute. Then both girls got ejected. Now my daughter has to take a online anger management class and sit out the next game while the other girls season is just over. That's kinda messed up beings she started everything and my daughter just defended herself. If the refs would have done their job and payed attention this could've been avoided !!!

....a 6 foot 200 pounder from San Fran is most likely a dude.....you should have beat him up and saved your daughter the grief....

GOODWIN: Dems really do love Republicans -- when they're dead...

Agree with shadow, you get swung on you don't wait to see if they're gonna swing again. Refs need to maintain control of games especially chippy games.

Glad She Defended Herself!

The only Issue I See is some Panty-Waist Judge seeing your Daughter Connected First!

Tell Your Daughter I Said Nice Job!

Honestly I don't think your daughter should have punched her. But I also don't believe your daughter should have to do anger management classes.

I also agree the refs let things get out of hand. Good officials would have never let things last long enough in close proximity that the large girl could have swung and certainly wouldn't have let it keep going where another girl had time to throw eight more punches.

I am glad your daughter is OK.

Good for your daughter defending herself there.. However,, I'm shocked she wasn't suspended for the rest of the season and booted from school for a week or two as well..

Steven Tyler had it right. Dude looked like a lady.

It kills me to see all these trans gender bitches that used to be men competing in women's sports.

No surprise when they win. Hello she used to be a man.

Sorry to hear about your daughter at least she stood up for herself.

I taught me kids not start any fight, But to always make sure they finish them.

Tell your daughter she did right by defending her self and teammates.

Good job by her. I raised my kids to defend themselves. If she waits for someone to stop the other girl and they dont then she has a problem. So she stopped it herself.
Surprised she gets to continue playing, especially here in Kali. But glad she does.

Our local girls just advanced in NCS division 4.

What division is your girls school?

Congrats to your daughters team. I wish then the best.

I'm impressed. If the other girl would have been taught some manners at home your daughter wouldn't have had to do the teaching! Tell her she should always stand up for herself and others. You should be proud.

Collect as much video as you can of that girl throwing the first punch. I had a similar incident and lost in court, got my homeowners for 300k. My son did cave in the side of the kids face, but he did not throw first. ATTA GIRL!

CYA!

I went through the same situation a couple years ago. The opposing teams player through the first punch at one of our players, and our girl landed a good one in return. The next day myself and some other parents wrote letters explaining what happened.
There is a chance CIF will change their ruling on your daughters punishment.
Its worth a try.
Your daughter did the right thing! The refs should have to sit out a few games for being terrible.

I don't know what the game situation (score) was at half way through the 3rd quarter, but your daughter could have hurt the whole team by getting ejected. Sometimes we need to control our emotions for the good of the team and get the win first.

Eel we were up by 15 if I remember right. My daughters team is the #1 seed in our section for their division. They were playing the #8 seed and those girls didn't like losing. This was totally out of character for my daughter. She's NEVER been in a fight before she's a straight A Student, student body president, homecoming royalty she's all around a great kid she just got hurt and retaliated. I think we've all been there.

nuts4bucks I hear you. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do. In this case it didn't hurt the team and in fact it can bring teammates closer together.

I think your kid did the right thing. Maybe that other girl will think better next time.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. "

Not saying what your daughter did was wrong, it was a very human reaction. I don't like bullies and have been in way too many fights myself over the years.

That said, I'd hate to see someone with such potential have opportunities taken away, or be put in jeopardy, having to defend potential assault or similar charges. Seven punches to the face, may not be fully defendable as "self-defense". It's just a different day.

I too agree that the ref's probably should have at least made some comments.

That said, there are some real redneck idiots on here, even for a hunting site. How in the world do some comments not get called out.
