Things are even Changing around here!

When We went to School in Altamont just about all of us had Guns in Our Trucks/Vehicles!

Sporting them in Our Gun Racks!

And Yes,Parked on School Premises!

We Took Guns in the School/Wood Shop!

Disassembled them,re-finished the Stocks,re-blued the Metal!

Nobody ever got Hurt!

Nobody ever said anything!

Teachers & the Principal knew We had them & many of them!

We'd go Rabbit Hunting/Plinking on Our Lunch Breaks!

I Guess a couple of Punks tried it recently!

And they got their Gun taken away!

I'd bet in just about any other town in the USA they'd of put a LOCKDOWN on the School & Blowed it way out of proportion!

Same here Bessie. We had guns in rifle racks all day long.

Show and tell in mechanics class one day was a kid letting us fondle a submachine gun his dad brought back from Germany.

Math teacher ( I still call him Mr. White) showed us what reloading was like.

It wasn't unusual to see kids excused from school for harvest or deer season.

Times have changed a bit.

?Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. "

I skipped 2nd hour (block schedule) and lunch and killed an elk. Showed up to third hour with blood all over my pants and smelling like I killed and gutted an elk. Gun in my truck. All that was said is "now you can show up to all your classes" I said ya until the deer hunt starts.

I was met one day by the principal an hour late in the parking lot after a morning detour for a couple honkers. He checked out the birds, grabbed my new Wingmaster from the gun rack and we talked guns for a minute, then he told me hurry my ass to class so I'd just get marked tardy and not absent. Things sure have changed here on Waltons mountain....

I shot a 6 point elk when I was 15. It was a long ways to pack it out even with my brother and Dad. I missed school and told them the truth. They gave me a truant slip.

Lack of parenting skills, violent video games, participation trophies, broken homes, glamorized crime movies, GMO and gluten......?

Wired
Kids do not bring guns and shoot up schools that there is a chance someone might shoot back.
Old days or now days!
The good old days we had freedom to live in the society we chose too.
Now days they want us all to live the same society as the left chose and it is not the society I would chose.

Is there a vaccination for that?

School I went to still had shooting .22s as part of ag class. I would imagine they still do in some facet but haven't checked. My girls favorite after school activity is duck hunting or plinking rabbits. Cause they get to drive home... It is very sad to me that the "norm" is very different now though...

That guy looks like a 6.5 creedmoore. Dig the tune though...

Your right there, I remember after school if finished my homework I would take my 20 gauge shotgun put it across my handle bars and ride down 59Th South to the Jordon River to hunt ducks and pheasants on Redwood road.

I can just imagine what would happen today if a kid was riding down the street with his shotgun across his handle bars.

Everyone would go to jail Mon dad Grandpa Granma etc LOL
