The Dutton

After a frustrating opening morning, we had to quickly turn to a Plan B (due to dense fog from all the moisture), and relocated to another area of The Dutton. We ended taking this bull around 6:30 p.m. Saturday night, and I have to say I couldn't be more happy with my Bull, that I waited 16 years (of seeing the word UNSUCCESSFUL) to hunt for.

I need to give a specaial shout-out and thanks to Travis Archibald and Spenser Ownens w/ HTO and Elkslayer (Brian Nelson) for being there for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and experience. You guys rock!

Great bull on a tough unit. Backpacking heavy loads is a big part of a Dutton elk hunt glad you showed those pictures to.

You packed the head out too! God almighty you cant eat them horns you know, and the ears are a little too chewy for my taste. I have packed out a head and horns one time, Never will I do that again. Damn skull and antlers weigh more than a quarter does. Nope, I cut the antlers and a small skull cap off and call it good.

Nice looking bull.

Very nice bull and I am sure it was well earned.

That mountain is as rugged and beautiful as they come.

I think I recognize that peak in the background :)

Would love to hear more details.

Thanks for all the compliments. I couldn't be more happy with this bull. He's got it all, and that's all that matters. The Dutton is like no other elk unit in Utah.

Good looking bull, and the pack out looks like it was easy. LOL
