Where to start. Congrats to everyone that has shot their bulls this year and good luck to all who are still waiting to go. My brother was lucky enough (16 points) to draw the book cliffs roadless rifle tag. He actually drew it last year but turned it in so he could get married instead.

A little background on the hunt. We went in friday morning early. Rain hit us pretty hard friday night into saturday morning and changed our plans for where we wanted to go. The bulls weren't bugling and visibility was at a minimum. We still hunted through the trees and ended up sneaking into a few cows and a small six point bull (sub 300)

That night the skies cleared up some and we ended up getting into a small 310 inch six point and a herd with a decent 5 point with some mass. Both bulls in the low 300's.

Monday morning we ended up working down a ridge and spotting bulls across the canyon. I think we came up with about 8 different bulls with the biggest around 320. Nothing we wanted to go after yet.

Monday night we rode down West Willow (those who know it) and came across a herd of cows with a very small six. Had him at about 100 yards which was pretty cool. Also ran into a bull buffalo.

Tuesday morning we ended up hearing a lot of bulls bugling and decided to try and get in on them. We worked our way into a canyon and ended up finding elk across the canyon moving into bed in some thick pines. It was a herd of cows with one mature herd bull and 2-3 satellite bulls. The hill was so thick we could only catch glimpses of elk. We spent the next 4 hours and 30 minutes picking that hill apart catching glimpses of the bull. First impressions from only seeing him for a half second at a time I had him scored around 330. finally after a 30 minute rain storm we had him moving through an opening. We had my brother set up where he would be walking out and as soon as he came out my dad cow called to stop him. My brother pulled the trigger and that was that. Once we got closer to the bull we realize my scoring was a little conservative. He scores 346

Nice Bull, it always great to walk up them and find them bigger, He looks bigger then a 346 bull.

Looks like he is right next to a road in a nice level spot. Wait the roads will not be there for a few more years. Congratulations.
