Colorado bulls

After 20+ years of waiting, my dad drew his Colorado muzzy tag. He spent two weeks before season learning the unit and I showed up two days prior to season.

I thought I would share some pics for you guys to enjoy. Sorry for the photo quality. Feel free to throw out some score guesses and/or which bull you would have targeted. All of my score guesses are gross.

Bull #1

This guy was sharing a big herd with bull #2 but he was definitely the aggressor. Only a 5x6 but still a great bull by Colorado standards. I guessed him at 345.

Bull #2

This bull was in the herd with #1. He wasn't as active but would stand his ground when challenged and did run #3 completely out of the herd when he tried to get in with the cows. Only got one good pic of him but I put him at 365.

Bull #3

Sorry for the loud mouth breathing on the video, I am allergic to sage. One of the biggest satellite bulls I've ever seen and really pretty to boot! I saw this bull six days after the initial sighting in the exact same place and he still didn't have any cows. Very killable. Shorter distances between points resulting in shorter main beams than one might think, and short G5s and great swords put this bull at 345 in my opinion.

7x7, great pics at first light but not a shooter on this tag. 320

A vaquero and his compadre came riding into our camp in the middle of the third day of season with this dead head on his horse. My spanglish was just good enough to negotiate the terms of sale just in time for my brother to whip out his wallet and steal my purchase. Who carries his wallet in hunting camp? I'll post what we scored him at in a couple days.

Bull #6 & #7, Wide Bull & Twin

These two bulls were virtually identical. I'm not sure which one is which in the pics but the video proves that there were two of them. 355

Bull #8, Blackie

As hard as this bull tried, he just couldn't peel a few cows away from Wide Bull and Twin. Great tine length but a little narrow and weak on his right main beam/G5. 350

Overall an amazing experience. Lots of wide open country so it was easy to get a good look at the bulls and an incredible bull to cow ratio. I will post which bull dad killed in a couple days, giving everyone opportunity to comment on my score guesses and/or guess for themselves as well as comment on which bull they would have hunted if they so desire.

Awesome bulls! 20 years is a long wait. My dad is in the same boat. Was your dad a nonresident or a resident? Hope you had a blast!

All good solid bulls! My top 3 would be #8, #2, #3. Congrats to your dad on whichever bull he harvested! Cants wait to hear which bull he killed and the story behind it!

2 or 3 would be my choice. All are awesome though. Wish my wife's hunt went that week on manti archery. Oh well can't wait to see the one he shot

Looks like you guys had a great time. all nice bulls.

I think #3 or #8 took a dirt nap. I would be happy with any of them

My 1st choice would have been bull #2, and I bet he's better that 365

My 2nd Choice would have been #8

Looks like you have an awesome time!

Cool Thread, thanks for posting :)

Well, I named #6 as well.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-20-16 AT 08:51PM (MST)[p]Thanks Daniel, it was an awesome time. I'm glad to here you think #2 might have been even better than I thought. I've been a little obsessed with him.
