As soon as i drew the tag i knew it was going to be a busy summer and good hunt! I spent most of the summer scouting the area, looking for a quality bull to take. There were several bulls but nothing I wanted. When this bull first appeared I knew it was the one and kept watching him through the summer.

I had a close eye on him but he completely disappeared as soon as elk started rutting. I had a hunch where he was and found him a week or so later. As the rut heated up, he was challenged by several 360" class bulls but kicked each one in the trash, leaving him with a solid group of cows by the end of September.

I have hunted a lot of elk over the years and taken several bulls pushing 350, but this guy was smarter, yet more aggressive than any elk iv ever seen! After being outsmarted on 2 separate occasions, we finally made it happen on the 4th morning of the hunt. I still cant believe it!

Unofficial: 378 3/4"

Great Bull nice story but I am confused to the 378 3/4" I see four points on one side and three on the other. ???? do you have another picture that shows it better or am I missing something
Congrats on the Bull

Sweet. I think you may have under scored him though. Mass is unbelievable. You can't even get your hands around the main beam clear out to the end.

378 is with the length of the legs included, its a horse racing kinda thing...178 plus the legs....I get it , big ol son of a gun!!!

Totally believe it. I mean look at the size caparison to the person in the background. That elk has gotta weigh 4000-5000 lbs easy. And though not many points, those beams have to be 9 feet long. :)

Boy, you'd have been knocking on the door of world record type bull if he hadn't busted his beam off at his 4's. Too bad. Nice job on the bull!!!

LMAO , that's pretty funny Great humor and editing skills. Congrats on the meat in the freezer and a nice euro mount for the wall.

Congrats on a trophy! That area must have some good genes for huge heads. His head is about the size of the hunter. You better have a huge pot for that euro mount.
