Ready to burn our points and am curious about this unit. Never been there only to antelope hunt in the bighorn basin east of Cody . Carter mountain HMA looks promising but it looks like according to the Wyoming g&f that only cow hunting is allowed. Is this correct? If so is there enough other public with elk on it for a decent hunt? Is this unit weather/migration dependent? Thanks, AJ

Check access to the Hoodoo I don't think you can buy a trespass permit anymore. if that's the case I don't think I'd blow max points on 58.

All the late hunts are somewhat weather dependent. but they seem to produce decent bulls anyway. this year might be a good test of how weather dependent they really are.

If you're willing to hire an outfitter there are much better hunts in the Cody area with your points. if you want to DIY 58 might be one of your only options.

Hoodoo allows bull hunting if you're willing to pay a trespass fee (1,000.00)
They don't allow bull hunting the last two weeks of November. You can hunt then but you have to use their outfitter. Lots of private in 58 so make sure you have a gps. There is a decent resident herd but weather helps a lot??

Hoodoo was charging $500 few years ago. Last 3 years a outfitter gets the bull hunting rights. So unless something.changed your stuck to public land which is still a great hunt. But I would still call and ask hoodoo

The Hoodoo Ranch charges $1000 for a trespass fee, hunt dates are October 1-November 15, they do not allow archery hunting. As stated above, the last 2 weeks of November the Hoodoo gives exclusive access of the property to an outfitter.
