My dad drew this tag with 6 points and mentored my 16yr. old son Jadon. We watched this bull for over a hour on the 2nd day before deciding it would be a good bull for Jadon to go after. When the bull finally stood up Jadon was able to hit him twice before the bull went around the point and out of sight. With the sun setting Jadon and his uncle went down to look for blood. After finding a good amount of blood they jumped the bull from his bed and was unable to get a shot off. They decided to back out for the night. The next morning I was able to spot the bull laying in some aspen in the bottom of the canyon. As we approached the bull he looked lifeless. At about 80 yards I started making some noise to see if the bull would lift his head and look at us. The bull still did not make any movement. Well wouldn't ya know another 20 yards and the bull jumps up and starts going up the the hill. After a couple of missed shots while the bull was struggling to go up the hill he finally stopped broadside at about 200 yards and Jadon was able to put him down. This was a hunt of a lifetime for me and my son. But the best part of all was that Jadon's Grandpa got to see his oldest grandkid shoot his first ever elk. These are memories that none of us will ever forget!
