My hunting partner and I have 7 points for elk in Wyoming. We are thinking of applying for unit 23 but I have read a few reports that make me rethink that. Does anyone have any suggestions on other units to look into? Any thoughts on unit 23? Some say elk are on private mostly, but the biologist says they are spread out on public also. Thanks for any info.

Been curious about the same thing got the same amount of points. Please let me know what you come up with

Louie if you don't find what your looking for here check out Eastman's MRS program

Good luck

Me and my buddy have 6, kind of in no man's land. Creep on max point units mean they are out of reach. We decided to buy another point this year and check the stats again.

You are in a tough spot for sure. Thing is even Eastmans says there are good elk to be had all over the state. You won't draw the most publicized units but can easily draw lees known units. It amazes me when out there antelope hunting in the very middle of the state the quality of bulls being drug out of the hills in those areas. Think outside of the box and the well known elk areas. Best resource Wyoming has are the biologists and game wardens, make the calls. Outfitters haven't set up there yet but they will in time.

Bowhunt10, that's some great advice!

Thanks for the information. I have contacted the biologist to get their opinions. We will pick a unit and see if we draw or not.
