I just drew a 46-1 Muzzy tag in Idaho. Pretty tough to draw, and looks like a pretty good hunt!

Gonna have to do some scouting since I've never been in the area. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Congrats on the tag, you will have a blast. I had the archery tag last year and it was one of the most fun hunts I've been on, no shortage of mature bulls to chase. Shoot me a PM and I can get you started.

Awesome! I'm beyond excited as I put in without thinking I'd draw. It just goes to show you can't get a tag without having your name in the hat.

Thank you for reaching out.

I'll shoot you a PM shortly.

I was looking for info for 46-1 as i drew the archery tag this year and i havent ever been in that country until today scouting. If you are up to sharing, i would also love any info I can get. It is way different elk country then I'm used to hunting!

Sorry for the late response, I've been fishing in Alaska.

I've done quite a bit of research and would be happy to share. Haven't been out there yet, but from what I'm hearing it should be a good time!

PM me your info and let's chat.

Thanks.

I thought I'd update you guys on the hunt. The bad news is I went home with tag soup...the good news is I had an amazing time, saw some amazing elk, and met some great friends along the way.

In a nutshell, we got into some AWESOME rutting action, and the information that was given to me on this site proved to be very valuable. THANK YOU!

I ended up meeting a fellow Monstermuley hunter and he was generous to offer information on what he had found. We ended up hunting together and helped him harvest a great 6x6. My 9 year old got the entire experience from the spot, stalk, call, shot, and packout. Because of this, I think he's hooked for life.

I had a couple of opportunities earlier in the hunt and chose not to take a long shot. On day five, I had my chance at a very nice bull and flat rushed the shot and missed. Hunting these elk with an open site muzzy proved to be a challenge, and by no means a gimme but the hunt was great nonetheless. If anybody else ends up drawing this tag let me know...I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction.

Many thanks to all who participated and helped!

I just wanted to share what a great hunt it was to be with Adam and his son. Thanks also to Jake for the superb calling skills. I would have never expected to randomly meet up with a fellow MonsterMuley fan and hunt together but it worked out great. Bummer that things didn't work out for you to tag a bull Adam but I'm glad to have spent time on the mountain with you and your son, he's a great young man!

Thanks also to the other guys on MM that willingly shared info on the hunt with me. It helped tremendously.

Awesome guys. Great memories made there. Sounds like a win to me. Your tag filled would have been a bonus.

I drew this tag and have been searching for more information. I’m wondering how your hunt went last year and hoping to pick your brain a little.
