idaho unit 45 elk hunt December

so after reading Epic magazine this spring i noticed a new hunt unit 45 for late season elk tag. I decided to put my self and my son in for that Tag, he is very busy playing soccer and the late season worked out great for scheduling. of course he drew and i didn't. I have hunted unit 44 dear and unit 52-a deer. just wondering if i could get any info on the late season elk and good places to start looking for them.
This will be his first Elk hunt for himself, so I would love to see him get a decent bull.
