Wondering for those that use them on an elk hunt or other outings, where online do you all get your mountain house freeze dried meals. I always have bought a few each time I am at Scheels. I should be able to find a great deal online. I seen a post on here a while back about this but can't find it. Thanks!

LAST EDITED ON Jul-24-17 AT 11:33AM (MST)[p]In the NW, BiMart is the cheapest place when they are on sale. Online, walmart cans and the pickup in store discount is where I got my last one. Costco isn't too bad but a 1# can of Pasta Primavera for $13 is gonna be hard to beat.

I have found them on Amazon on sale at times for dirt cheap, like $3 or $4, but it usually limited flavors and a short supply at that price.

I was able to find a good deal on them at Costco. Got 13 assorted meals with 2.5 servings each for about $56. They might still have them online if youre a costco member.

I like the idea of saving money, but I sure do like having a brick and mortar store in town. I would shop locally, and show the business owner the prices you can get online. You can usually work out a deal that makes them money while keeping it local. That's what I do at the store I manage and it seems to make everyone happy. My two cents

Hey guys... thanks for the comeback. Yes, after searching the webb I have found some good deals. Elkboy.... that is a great comment. I am 45 miles from the nearest store that stocks freeze dried meals... cept the local wally world, but they don't have much. I really like the mountain house brand. Usually have breakfast somewhere after we get done chasing morning elk. I don't like to eat in camp as I usually get stomach pains hiking in before sun up. Take in a MSR small gas bottle and small burner to boil water. Works great having a meal or two in the pack. Back at camp we never cook freeze dried.... only when we are hunting or maybe setting up a spike camp. Good luck to all this season!!

So share with us! Where are the best current deals. I am getting close to ordering some as well

last bunch i bought was at Fred Meyer here in the northwest. was on sale, buy one and get one free. other then that, costo has a good price on the bucket but no choice of flavors though.

Emergency essentials has the Mountain House meals, and runs specials from time to time. They also offer deals on new flavors to get feedback.

I would keep an eye out on camofire.com they have had some on there off & on . Last time I saw them they were around 3 $ a meal sometimes backcountry.com has meals on sale another site is preparewise.com they sell Legacy it is made is the USA they have samples available. Another option is Heathers Choice out of Alaska their stuff is Real food !!! just my 2 cents
