That's a wine barrel; there are more than 5,000 craft breweries in the US. Always a good idea to check with your local brewers who age beer in wine/whiskey barrels. If you are in wine country- check with vintners. It is a cool pedestal mount. A used whisky barrel coming from a distillery will run $150 to $250 depending on barrel quality. A second-use barrel from a brewery should run $50-100.

Thanks guys.

Yes, it's a wine barrel. There are a couple of people on ksl classifieds that sell wine and whiskey barrels.
This barrel was about $100. They come just raw and used. I spent about 8 hours sanding and staining and finishing this one. Then I cut it to the height that the taxidermist recommended.
(Credit to Koby at Massey Taxidermy. He does very good work!)
I love the way it turned out.

Another idea for a wine barrel is Home Depot. They sell them in half?s to be used as planters. Not as well built as a real one but they get the job done. If I knew how to put pictures up I'd show how I built mine

Fine looking mount. That barrel is sweet too.
