Headed up to archery hunt elk, will I have to dress up like a pumpkin once the rifle deer hunt opens Saturday? Can't find it in the regs. Thanks for any help!

Praying I harvest one with my bow but in the event I have to stay through rifle....a simple orange hat works for me. ?

Are you sure? I think if he is archery hunting he doesn't need orange? I would recommend a hat while walking though. I could be wrong.

Im sorry I mis typed on my phone, NO ORANGE IS REQUIRED WHILE ARCHERY HUNTING, but if you archery hunt during rifle season then yes you will need orange.

Here is what it says in the regs booklet:

Clothing Requirements. Hunters Required to Wear
Fluorescent Orange or Fluorescent Pink Clothing.
All persons hunting big or trophy game during an open firearm
season, shall wear in a visible manner one (1) or more
exterior garments of a fluorescent orange or fluorescent
pink color that shall include at least one of the following:
a hat, shirt, jacket, coat, vest or sweater. Fluorescent orange
camouflage or fluorescent pink camouflage are legal.
Hunters participating in limited quota muzzle-loading
seasons are also required to meet the fluorescent clothing
requirements. Archers and crossbow hunters hunting during
a special archery season or limited quota archery only Type 9
season are exempt from this requirement.

So the way I read it is if you are hunting with archery equipment in a hunt area during a firearms season you would have to meet the fluorescent clothing requirements.

I remember watching a hunting show about 2-years ago being filmed in Wyoming. The hunter has a posse of helpers and none of them including the hunter had any orange on. They located the Bull they wanted to shoot and after getting all lined up the hunter pulled an orange vinyl vest out of his pack, put it on and shot the Bull. After the shot he removed the vest. Is this legal in Wyoming? I guess it comes down to the definition of hunting. Do the several days it took to find the animal (with rifle in hand) not constitute hunting or is hunting defined as the actual shot?
