Didn?t see many archery big bull pics, haven't seen many rifle big bull pics yet. Is it going to be that bad of a year for Utah? To dang hot and dry

I saw one come off of Manti this weekend. It was a pretty good looking 5x5. I ran into a DWR officer by one of my glassing spots and he said that he personally only saw one smaller bull taken on the archery along with a few spikes. Said he hasn't heard of a lot of bulls getting taken so far. Hopefully I'll be posting pics with a bull next week when my hunt starts.

I went scouting on the wasatch with my son, and the trailhead was empty. His tag is later, but we only saw one hunter in the distance and no shooting. Bulls still weren't hot.

Come October muzzle hunts you will see plenty. Bad year to hold an early archery tag. But I guess it's better than being at work.

They're all on Instagram and Facebook. Just look at the number of HACs on here this year. Look at how few posts there are about deer or elk being killed. It's not because they're not being killed, it's because nobody is posting them here... :-( :-(

I agree with that desertpoint. It also seems like things have just slowed way down around here of late...

I agree about the pain in the a** statement for posting pics on this site.... The software should be retired.

I have a pic of a 350" ish bull from Colorado but I'm not going to go thru the hassle to post it here and I'm sure that's why most don't.... But what do I know...

Wow,
I'm even older than elkassassin and yet I too can post pics on this site.
Maybe some need to be fed their baby food in a straw?? :) :)

Here is my wife"s bull from the Manti unit.

Who cares?

It's not worth my time or effort to post a pic that a lot of people on this site will ridicule any way.

Those that want to see it will see it.

I've liked your posts in the past but your comments might change my mind....

Later

I don't think it has anything to do with the software for posting pics... people used to post their pics and stories with the same software. It has gotten so negative around here that I think that people don't want to participate anymore.

For example, there have been two recent threads about people in the hunting community dying at a young age with young families and a few @ssholes are allowed to come on here and stir sh!t. Nothing is sacred anymore. If it was my forum, I would've banned those people immediately. There are certain places a person shouldn't go and that is one of them. The Hairston thread turned me off enough that I pretty much quit coming here, and then the grizzly attack went negative too. After those, I had no intention of posting my pics.

However, with that said, I'll post mine in an attempt to get back to the good side of things as hunting forums can be a lot of fun and a place for people to share stories and help each other out.

This is a Wyoming bull I got a few days ago up by Cody...

I'd love to see your 350 CO bull Co-man, and for what it is worth my :) :) comment was intended to be more about my inabilities than anything else. I apologize if I was offensive.
That being said I have to agree with Grizzly that the lack of pictures has more to do with the negativity that frequently invades positive posts, than anything else.
I too am weary of the lack of respect displayed on this forum. I love to follow fellow hunters, and I've been blessed to make some incredible friendships on this site. However, the increasingly sour sauce comments are wearing pretty darn thin.

So kudos to all of you who have posted great elk picks and best of luck to those who still have tags to fill.

Ha bess no I am not saying all the way old just saying

Absolutely the reason. There are plenty of places that pics can be posted without resizing or hosting them. I would post here also, but it's not worth the hassle. You don't have to climb the stairs when there is an elevator. The negativity is also a part of it, but I've been here for a LOONG time and it's always been negative and full of jealousy, thats nothing new.

Hey Griz

Nice pics and your wife is quite the hunter, I remember her sheep last year. Is her trophy room bigger than yours? LOL Great Bull Nice pic. What else do you have this year can't wait to see.

Nice work Griz. Great comments too. Last year my family harvested 3 6 point bulls. None of the pictures or stories made it to MM. I have been mostly lurking these days. I too hope that this site gets back to a good place to follow. I have told myself that I need to quit coming here, but I guess with hunting in my blood it is hard to stop. Mostly because of post like yours.

Thanks for sharing.

Great bulls both of them!!

I agree that many posts can get degrading and people need to be more respectful. I also have to thank Brian and MM for a lot of great info and some great new friends over the years.

Grizzly-

Congrats on a great archery bull! I was hunting elk in the Bighorns with my bow this past week. I chased some really nice bulls but was unable to get it done. I guess I will have to go back with my rifle in October. :)

LAST EDITED ON Sep-22-18 AT 10:52AM (MST)[p]I believe that it is correct that the negativity and insulting is what prevents a lot of people from posting their pics. It may be funny to laugh at some of the negative comments made towards someone's trophy, or criticism of the way they do things, but when it is you or your family they are attacking, it is a whole different thing. I have been there and it is one of the reasons I have basically quit coming to Monster Muleys. I have had good friends ridiculed and trashed on here and it really changes how you feel about some of the jacka$$ people on here.
I used to spend many hours on here and have met some great guys on here, now I only come here to check out the beautiful animals that hunters have harvested. And I see the jealous negativity is still here. Come on people, enjoy the hunters harvests, for what they are, and keep your ugly comments to yourself......or better yet, post some of your pics so we can trash you......

I agree that trying to post pics on here is a pain in the a$$.

It's so much easier on most other sites.

Yeah, I'm computer illiterate.

I also agree the negativity has always been here; nothing new.

But that's not the reason I've never posted any pics. I've tried, but I get frustrated and quit. Because it's a PAIN IN THE A$$ to try to post pics on here, and quite frankly, it's just not that important to pursue something that's just a hassle.

Once you post a pic on the internet, you're at everyone's mercy...

Grizzly
Congrats on the really nice bull! Good to see that you and your wife got to be together for the hunt. Thanks for posting the pic too!

Champagne problems ;-)

Good luck in October and to everybody else that still has tags to fill.

Here's a different angle.

Yes, I always need to do better at catching the posts that shouldn't be on the site. I try to read as much as I can, but just can't read it all. I have the ALERT link at the bottom of every post hoping folks will let me know when they see that crap, but I don't get many of them. Always working to do better.
As far as the forum program, I probably should go to a different system. I need to look at some different programs and see what might work well while still allowing me to maintain control.

We probably are all at fault for not calling out the crap. It really does get old and I'm sure it has cost this site a bunch of members.

Good luck Founder on keeping an eye on things.

I love this site and always have. Not sure how long I have been a registered user.

It is however hard to post photos
The negative comments are just ridiculous, and are not on other sites as much.
I pack my phone and use it mostly, so posting here is not an option.

My 2 sons, ages 25 and 27 no longer get on this site. They just use Facebook and Instagram.

Hope that perspective helps a little.

>I pack my phone and use
>it mostly, so posting here

I use my phone to post pics, the first bull pic I posted above was taken on my phone and posted directly here.

I just click download from device, find the picture in the correct folder and it goes. Then copy and paste the link in the thread. No big deal.

I use a Galaxy, is it maybe harder with an iPhone?
