Hey fellas,
This is my second time drawing this tag in the last 4 years. The last time I learned quit a bit about the unit and know you need to cover a lot of ground. It seemed as though most of the other tag holders I talked to were spending their time along the Nev. border. I know there are some bigguns taken every year. Just looking for a little info and tips for a successful hunt. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Any idea what caliber of bull I might expect to see on this hunt?

I'll just keep bringing this back up to the top until someone joins in the conversation! What fun! What a helpful bunch of hunters!

Don't be an ass.
I wouldn't hold out for a 390 but its possible. 310 to 340 is very doable and remember that NV has hunts on Nov 6th and the 22nd. This always kicks animals across the border.

But if this is your second time drawing the tag. I can only assume you already know these simple details.

This is somewhat comical. You post for information and say it's the second time you've had the tag in 4 years. If you really hunted it 4 years ago you probably have a better idea of what to expect than 95% of the guys on this forum. Unless you're expecting someone to tell you what tree to find a 380? bull behind.

Well, you gotta admit its kind of a strange question coming from someone who hunted the unit a few years ago, right ?

Wow you're a great guy asking for help and then because NO-ONE has any information for you. You get Butt hurt,
MAYBE no-one know/have any information to give you.

Wow, I did not expect those kinds of reply's! I made the post just looking for some general information, maybe a little conversation starter. And I got no reply. I wait a day and remark about finding it hard to believe no one has hunted this unit before. 11 days later I see there is still no reply, so I remark about how helpful everyone is (sarcasm).

Alwayshunting calls me an ass, and make s a condescending remark.

N_corey makes a remark about me expecting someone to tell me where the elk are.

Tikka and Gator offer no help, then says I'm butt hurt for asking!

Finally berrysblaster comes through with something positive! Thanks berrysblaster!

To the rest of you "helpful" hunters. Just imagine if I was a new hunter, what kind of impression would I come away from this forum with? Fortunately I'm not new and already know what to expect in the unit I'm hunting this year. I was just looking for some helpful hints, maybe some pictures and a little camaraderie. I don't thing my query was out of line and after 11 days of no reply's I added a little snark just to see what would happen. I'm not sure I could recommend these forums to a new or inexperienced hunter. Something to think about.

Good luck in your upcoming hunts!

I didn't call you an ass. I said don't be one, and gave you what would be helpful info. If you were interested. I've hunted the unit a lot, and am lucky enough to hunt it again this year Nov 1st through 15th. It's always a good time. Take your fishing pole and your shotgun...

Never set a foot on the unit.
Good luck, I hope you kill a big bull! Really I do.
Hows that for positive honest feedback? :D

More along the lines of what I was hoping for. Thanks.

Atta boysjhgraysage! Good luck on your hunts as well!

Mtmuley, pretty much the same, when someone gets on here and makes an ass of himself he pretty much gets this reaction. I cannot think of any forum where this reaction would get a different reaction.

I have found MMer's to be helpful, but I don't insult those I am requesting help from.

How to start an argument online:
1. Express an opinion
2. Wait

LAST EDITED ON Oct-01-18 AT 07:46PM (MST)[p]Mtmuley, I'll help anyone anytime, to the best of my ability. And most of the ppl I've run into on mm are like minded. But a spade is a spade, not gonna call it a club... Sorry if that bothers you.

Soooo, I get no reply after 12 days and point that out and that makes me an ass? All I said is what a helpful bunch! Lol! I'm with mtnmuley I remember when Monster Muleys was a lot more friendly place. I think some people are mighty quick to get offended and aren't shy about letting them know about it! Whatever, life is too short to spend it being offended!

Good luck friends!

Bringing this back up again as I am heading out Sunday through Friday. Anyone have any pics to share of bulls taken in this unit? I would love to see them! Don't be shy big or little lets see them!

I spent 14 days there this month. Great time and only got better as it went. We shot a decent 6 on second to last day...

Yes. Saw 2 that would push 360. But more will filter in from NV. Especially with the weather we're supposed to get this weekend...
