Paunsaugunt Elk

I am brand new to Monster Muleys and have never posted anything but I am hoping someone can and be willing to help me out. I drew this midseason Paunsaugunt LE Elk tag that is going on now and I've been all over the place with no sign of Elk. I know there aren't very many Elk on the unit but I've seen them in the past which is why I applied for the tag. Has anyone in the last week or less seen any Elk on this unit? Anyone have an idea where they "normally "are found? Anything can help. I've got till Saturday to hunt but getting a bit desperate. Thanks

Do you have an ATV to get into the rough roads? Give me a little information about you? How big of an elk do you want? I hunted a few days down there on the ML hunt.

Saw a lot of buck, but nothing big. I was hunting elk and heard them bugling, but just to old to get to them. The only thing I received out of this hunt is a lot of funny stories.

I finally ran into a small group near the Bryce Canyon border. Had a 5X4 bull in the group-a little small for a limited entry tag but I feared I'd never see anymore so I killed it.

Here's one picture of him. Not great but it's my first elk so I'm happy. It'll taste good.

looks good to me, tough unit unless you know the few places they normally hangout in.

How to start an argument online:
1. Express an opinion
2. Wait

Good for you. Not bad on a tough unit and to the kid in the picture, that just as well be a 400" bull!

Congrats and welcome!

Well done. Killing any bull on the paunsaugunt is an accomplishment. Not very many elk but it is a fun place to hunt. I killed my first bull there as well.

Congrats on your bull!
We had the tag last year and we never saw an elk scouting.
Ended up running into 18 cows, 2 satellite bulls and a herd bull on opening day! Bedded them and then my son contemplated shooting him for 4 hours.
He decided to shoot him and glad he did!

5575gb I've seen your posts before and that's an awesome bull. That's more of what I was looking for! I've seen bigger bulls than mine in past years in there but not this trip. I'm pretty satisfied though. Congrats to you guys on last year's hunt!

We are just living in the wrong state. My Wyoming son has harvested a better bull than that almost every year that he has lived there with nothing but over-the-counter tags.
