Fellow hunters,, I have done some research on the topic and have come to realization that asking you guys for help is the best option.

There are lots of NM landowner tags out there and I want one. I'm at a point in life where I have a bit of cash and every other year or so I can buy a hunt. I'm getting out of the applying/PP games.

I have to work until the end of October and want to do an elk hunt after that. The NM landowner tag system looks awesome to me but there are so many options and units and tag brokers..it's confusing to say the least.

I have a simple question, (got a feeling it's not gonna be that simple) what are some top units for getting onto big bulls in Nov? I would hope to buy a rifle tag and do it DIY, don't really wanna deal with guides.

Might I oblige you fellows for some suggestions?
Thank you in advance

Sounds like you're going to be off to a good retirement! So if you buy a landowner tag that is unit wide you will have to hunt units that have good purpose licenses hunts in November. 15,13,17. Those are all muzzy hunts.
If you were to hunt units outside the COER you can hunt any 5 consecutive from October 5 all the way through December. That opens up more units

Thanks for the reply. I'm not retiring quite yet, at least I hope not anyway lol.
I haven't messed with muzzys much and would hope to stay with the rifle.
Is there a unit you would recommend out of the COER for a good solid hunt? If I could narrow down a few good units for Nov or Dec I could start trying to find tags for sale.
