I was lucky and drew an Expo Tag, so who would be on your list of outfitters for this unit.

Thank you in advance

Get a map and put some boot tracks down. It's the Dutton man. But if you go now you may need a snow machine. It's going to be a good year on the Dutton ! Congrats !

Here's a Dutton Bull!

>on the Dutton!

I was referring to Stinky wearing tennis shoes. I don't even wear tennis shoes on dove hunts.

Thanks for all the messages and input, I decided to hunt with Jake Bess Hunting. Wish everyone good luck this year.

Slamdunk!!!! That is all!

But why post a question that will result in every outfitter in the state being thrown out there. Just google ?utah elk guides? the results will be the same

Hahahahaha what up bessy. That bulls in storage now. You want him?

That had to be my most memorable elk hunt ever.

I wont have a place to properly display him for quite some time

High Top knows that unit as well as anyone. Great bunch of guys too. I have chatted with them each year at the expo and they always have a few studs mounted up from the season and they have done very well for their hunters. Reasonably priced too compared to some of the not to be mentioned other outfitters.

You can do well alone there but when we were there 2 years ago the bulls didn't start bugling until the last couple of days of the rifle season. The muzzleloader hunt was prime rut. Be prepared to hunt quiet elk but that can change from year to year.

I did and I knew of many that were refereed already. I always want to see if you can find a few people that have actually hunted with not just know of them. Outfitters provided references and I ask for both successful and unsuccessful, but once again always nice to hear from others that have hunted with them. Google just gives you a list of names

I hunted it one year and a buddy the next. It was completely different each year. One year there was rain, cool weather, and even a little snow during muzzy season....bulls bugled off and on all day long. The other year was a full moon, 60 to 80 degree weather and the elk were only active right at sunrise and sunset. I almost turned in my tag! It was super tough...and boring! As mentioned in the post before mine it's a crap shoot! I've been on many sheep and mtn goat hunts in Alaska and elsewhere....the Dutton hunt was tougher than any I have ever experienced! Be ready to be in super top shape and an incredible amount of work. If conditions aren't ideal it can be a desolate place to hunt!
