I'm heading up there on Thursday night. Gonna spend 4 days up there fishin' for some fat hogs. They had a 71lb. king caught up there last week. I'll take a couple half that size. We'll see. I would like to try and post some pics when I get back if anyone's interested.

MS, how did you end up doing on this one?? We went to Nootka Sound for the first time last August 3rd -9th, took the new 20' Thunderjet. It was the worst fishing ever. My uncle's been going up for six years and he said we just timed it wrong. I did lose one hog around 35lbs, but we only brought home two fish and fished hard. We're going back this year, now that I know the area and we are going a little later, we should do well. Normally my uncle has no problem limiting on fish to over 50lbs.

Man....you must've really dug through the archives for this one. :) We had an amazing trip! One of the best trips I've been period, huntin' or fishin'.

We went up the week after the 4th of July and timing was perfect. We caught more Coho than we could count, and after awhile they even got kinda annoying. Who would think that catching 50+ 10-15lb. Coho every day could get old. :) The Kings were a blast too. We could only bring home a total of Four Kings and Four Coho apiece, so we threw a lot of 20+lb. Kings back. I ended up bring home two 31's, one 35, and one 48lb. Would recommend going up there to anyone.

48lbs.

Here's one of the 31's....first fish of the morning, first day. What a way to kick it off. Father-in-law took me....he's been going up every year since 86', sometimes more than once a year. That's how good of a time it is up there.

That is really sweet dude!! Makes me want to be back up there right now.. We are going back to Nootka this year (Don't know if I said they got a 70lbr there three days after we left). It will be better though, we got in at Critter Cove with my uncles group and that place is a blast, nothing like Canadia eh? Our only problem was with Luna, the damn thing took a liking to my jet engine's noise and tried to follow us around. I honestly think it scared the fish away some of the time. Thanks for the pics' I'll try and post a few from our trip this last year.
Later -D
