These are photos I took of my eleven year old son.
This was a very memorable trip.
It was mid week and the kid was playing hooky with Dad.
I kind of struggled that day.
There were several other fisherman upstream of us.
After my kid's fourth or fifth fish, someone yells out..."looks like his momma musta taught him to fish!"
I just grinned.
After his eigth or ninth fish, they were threatening to call the truant officer!
It was a golden day that I will never forget.

HH,

You gotta love those experiences huh? Good Times! I'm sure your boy will look back on that day with fond memories as well. The fact that you include him in activities that you both enjoy doing, and had a successful, fun time to boot (plus, you took him out of school which in my mind can show a kid that once in a while there are other things that are more important than school)...matters. I'm sure he'll thank you for it the rest of his life. I look forward to doing the same kind of thing with my 2 boys as they come of age.

EG

PS If you ever need some help bringing in some of those big boys, feel free to let me know! :)

Nice fish Harry, looks like South fork of the Eel and the main Eel right? I grew up in Ukiah fished all of the coast rivers and the northern rivers. Nothing quite like a steelhead, although I have moved to Kenai, Alaska and we have a few fish up here too. Looks like you and your son have caught quite a few nice salmon also, have you ever fished the middle fork for summmer run? Tights lines. Ron

Hey Big Moosie!
We fish the Mad River out of Arcata for steelhead and The Feather, Sacramento and American Rivers for Salmon.
The Eel is a beautiful river and I've only fished it once.
I want to take my kid to the Kenai in the coming years for a shot a a huge king and maybe the Situk in SE Ak. for steelies.
I've been in love with Alaska for quite a while.
I'm determined to get up there for a good moose sometime soon too.
Thanks for the compliments.
HH
