Carp flies?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-05 AT 01:02PM (MST)[p]My buddie caught a carp on a fly. think about it, they eat bugs and everything else also. It was about a 4 pounder in the Animas on some kind of a san juan type worm.
I have never tried to catch one but I guess I would use some bigger flies-10-14, wooly buggers, worms, leeches.
We thought it was a monster brown or something. Needless to say we were disappointed when it got close enough to see.

I also like to fish for carp. I don't like wooly buggers or any other kind of flies, I like to force feed em. I shoot them with my bow. Muledeernut

Coming from the carp capital of Wa state (Moses Lake)Ive seen alot of methods of getting them. The bow tournament is one...A friend of mine has been catching them on a brownish woolly bugger with a bronze bead at the head...he is an avid flyfisherman and is having a kick...there is no shortage of carp around here thats for sure!

the couple of times i've tried when the opportunity arose, they seem to take anything you throw at them when they are feeding. they are a blast to hook. i've never got one in the boat, but then i never really tried. they drag my little jonboat around way better than my trolling motor ever could.

I know this is an old thread but gold ribbed hare's ears work well...on the flats and lead them a bit...
you will see them tailing rooting around in the mud.
