Was wondering if there are any Jeep owners out there. If so, what kind of modifications do you have? I have a 92 wrangler with Rubicon Express suspension and other goodies on it. Would like to hear about others.

I currently have a 74 CJ-5 with a strait 6, ripped rag top, cancer on the sides, snow plow on the front and still chained up from the winter, the nicest feature it now has is the chrome windshield wiper cover, use it every yr when we draw tags locally, she isn't Raquel but what the Hell she's warm and she's free!... Greg

I have a 71 CJ-5. It has a Cooper soft top, 5:38 gears with a limited slip Dana 30 front end and a Dana 44 front end with a Detroit locker. Chevy sm420 tranny, Buick v-6, but I have a Chevy 4.3 liter v-6 that I am going to drop into it for more power. A 3 inch Rancho lift, 33" Mud Terrains, an 8000 pound Warn winch model 8274. I also made a Jamboree rack for it with a swing out tire carrier. It has twin sticks in it so I have a very wide range of gear selection. I can even put it in front wheel drive just in case my rear drive line goes out. I love it, and it wheels great. Very low geared, I can put in four low and it can darn near clim a tree. It can climb more things than I have guts to climb on purpose. Muledeernut

Ya I've got a 83 cj5 straight 6, sm 420 manual, 4.56 gears w/ loc-rites, 34x9.5 swampers, 1" body lift, shackle reversel w/ 2" wrangler springs and liberal use of a saz-all.

REAL JEEPS ARE MADE NOT BOUGHT !!!!! :D

I bought a 1975 Jeep P/U at one time. It had about 50,000 miles on it when I bought it. I put about 20,000 more miles on it. Most of those miles were from being towed to the shop. That truck left me hung out to dry many times. It was kind of a LEMON yellow color. LOL I got so upset the last time, I sold it for $400 and that included a 8000lb. Ramsey winch.

Since then my motto has been, if you like to spend all your free time and all your extra money working on your rig, then a Jeep is for you!:)

I have a 75 CJ5. I changed out the intake and outtake manifolds and gaskets so I could put on a 2barrel carb. It runs a bit smoother. The suspension is the next upgrade when time permits.

I have an 80, and an 82 CJ5, all the mods and fix's are too many for me to type right now. But I will say I spent more on them then they are worth haha. Just kidding of course, it is a labor of love!!!!!!!! I guess it is a jeep thing?

I have a 84 cj7. Some modifications are 360 fuel injected, t18, atlas, lockers. I am still messing with it. The problem is Jeep stands for just empty every pocket.

74 CJ5, 304 v-8, soft-top. In the process of a full width conversion. Just putting some Dana 44's under it, spring over, with a 3 pack wrangler spring in the rear and 5 pack in front. Had massive flex.

I am the proud owner of a 91 yj. not much off stock other then a 2 inch spring lift and 31/10.5 tires it has been stuck in the garage for the last little while going through a few little items- new clutch, oil pump, fly wheel, rebuilt tranny just got it back And some light body work. Nonethe less I love and wouldn't give it up for nothin.
Good Luck and Great Memories

I have a 72 CJ 5 that is currently sitting at my Mechanics (not overly Mechanical) It was my grandpa's and hasn't had an engine or ran in 20 years. I have an AMC 304 v8 that came out of a Javelin that I am hoping to get installed so it is up and running this winter.

It as a Meyer's Hard Top on it and 12,000lb winch! You can winch this thing up a cliff.

Jeeps? i learned to drive in one. Had a couple, last one was a 55 willys pickup, part street rod part tree climber, with a 283 and tons of gears. Great rig to cruise around in but i wouldn't trust it other than close to town runs.

I talked my buddy into getting one, well he used to be my buddy, 72 cj, for local use around here. He couldn't get it to stay dependable, the transfer case broke a couple days before our local deer season after he had dumped a bunch going threw it. He finally had enough, disowned me, ;-)and traded it for a aluminum boat setup. Awesome rigs to hunt out of, in good weather, if you can keep them outa the shop. I'll get less places all right but i'll get there and get home, in nice comfort w/ my old 4x4 chev.

Does a 71 Bronco with a dana 30 up front and a 44 in the rear count as a jeep?? Kinda but prettier huh?? It's been sitting since 95 but it started last year for me. Gonna get the 302 rebuilt in the next year, new seals and bushings and use it for my dead of winter chukar rig. Damn quad gets too cold when temps dip below 20.
